Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. It's going to get very hot here today, but the NSW north coast will get much hotter, if you can believe BoM.
Did some yard work yesty, more to be done today, before the heat sets in.
Have a top day everybody. Don't overdo anything. Safe travels if you are out and about.

Good morning All. 21* at the moment with max of 23* forecast
I have done very little during the last week, haven't felt 100%, hope this week will see some achievement.
I will start with some mowing once the grass dries.
Bernie, luckily, I can't fit an awning on the Bedford because, if I did I wouldn't be able to get in and out the front gate. I hope all goes well with your attempt to fit the new one.
Dave, I hope all goes well with your insurance claim regarding the MH damage.

It's not just posts, it's brick pillars, even the mirrors just clear after I have removed the gates. Also, I have to back onto a main road.

Re: Good morning daily
Well ..... not as well as I'd hoped. First I had that nasty reminder to "Read the instructions first, not after it's all gone wrong" After believing we had bought oil based enamel paint, a quick trip to the local IGA to buy 3 x 1ltr bottles of mineral turps .... why didn't I pick up a 4 ltr bottle while at Bunnings? Opened up the "mechanical" spray gun, a quick read of the instructions regarding the flow rate through the viscosity cup, tried the paint undiluted and realised I was going to need a lot of thinning.BernieQ2 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 24, 2025 6:13 am Good morning.

Bernie.
Added equal parts paint and turps to the mixer/pourer pot to set a base line .... first discovery, the turps sat on top of the paint ...... a read of the label ..... water clean up .....
A further read through the spray gun instruction, now having memory reruns of just how thin the paint had to be when spraying the 2 pack paint .....
Somewhere about this point, all thoughts of proceeding using this spray gun method and the price of a Wagner spray gun ran through the mind ...... the "F" word might have slipped out a few times, let's try painting this thin stuff with a brush ..... that went about as well as expected, so the next thought was to clean everything up and go and have a beer ..... it might be water based, but it's harder to clean up than oil based paint, just the cleaning fluid is cheaper ......
Woke up at 8am, yesterdays "successes" ran through the mind, rolled over and went back to sleep
Did a Google search on mechanical airless spray equipment, ranging from $8,500 down to $400 from Bunnings, same cost as the paint

Re: Good morning daily
Terry, have you tried using a roller with that paint? That might not work with the stuff you've already thinned down, but it should work OK with the other stuff.
Cheers
