Got up early to do the aluminium welding, can't find the aluminium flux cored mig wire
Thought about the low temp aluminium welding/soldering rods .... yeah/nah, I don't want to be doing this again if that's not strong enough ..... so, coffee it is

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone, and Happy Australia Day.
It's been a bit warm here, getting to around 34⁰ or so, for the past week or so. Nothing like the bottom half of Aust has been getting though. We had a little shower of rain last night. The storm split and went around us.
Every man and his dog is either at the beach or out on the water.
I spent most of yesty giving the little Jimny a thorough clean and tidy up. I've come to the conclusion that Bandits DNA will be in that car til it eventually goes through the shredder. Dog hair just hangs on doesn't it.
Hopefully, we'll get our Winny back soon, then I can put some proper solar on the roof and we can get away for awhile. I think I need to spend time with my grand kids.
Have the best day possible everybody. Safe travels.

Re: Good morning daily
Terry, if you are planning on using the flux cored mig to weld your door frame back together, find another way. By the time you clean all the powder coating off there won't be much left to get a weld to adhere to. Maybe form a bit of ally sheet to the same profile and glue and rivet it all back into place.T1 Terry wrote: ↑Mon Jan 26, 2026 10:13 am Got up early to do the aluminium welding, can't find the aluminium flux cored mig wireThought about the low temp aluminium welding/soldering rods .... yeah/nah, I don't want to be doing this again if that's not strong enough ..... so, coffee it is

This is 3mm thick aluminium hollow square section with no coating on it ..... but I don't have a clue where the safe place I put that aluminium flux core mig wiresupersparky wrote: ↑Mon Jan 26, 2026 10:32 amTerry, if you are planning on using the flux cored mig to weld your door frame back together, find another way. Tossing up if I should get gas and the teflon liner and use solid aluminium mig wire, or just find someone to weld it up for me .... guess which way I'm thinking at the moment

Re: Good morning daily
Good afternoon, Australia Day appeared to be a great success at the club today, there were many, many young families with children come to join in the fun, never seen so many people at the club on Australia Day, we won on our green 18-12 & we won the rink draw $10 on our card to spend at the club it was a social day, think temperature reached 26c with a wind blowing across the green it was pleasant playing, enjoyed the day.
This evening we have many heavy grey rain full clouds, no rain is the prediction

Re: Good morning daily
Good onya, Shirley. And the rest of your ladies too.
All our local Bowlos had something special happening today.
Maybe the kids last Hurrah, before back to school tomorrow, or hump day. It's good to see that it hasn't totally turned into a day of protest.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning everyone. It's going to be another warm one here. Might hit 34⁰ again. No rain in sight.
I'll be back building switchboards in the big tin shed from 6am today. I spent most of the weekend cleaning the cars. Still haven't finished yet.
Enjoy your day everybody, school is back in a few places so take care on the roads. The speed cameras will be out and about.

Re: Good morning daily
Good morning.
Yes it's bloody hot.. not as hot as SA
Yesterday I went and started loading timber on to my Ute
What happened...the Lady went and asked the people who were cutting trees down...on the neighbours behind me... she only wanted a few...miss understanding by the tree cutters.. they dropped the whole truck load in front of her shed and also blocking access to her box trailer..
She got in touch with me to see if I wanted some...
She went and got up the tree people about coming and removing the timber.... they came around while I was there.. asked if I wanted all of it...YES...
So now I have a few days ahead of me splitting timber.
I even got the splitter out to make sure it was in working condition...I hadn't started it for close on two years... All good..
Well done Shirley and your bowls club..
Already on the top of the twenties here ..
Keep safe and cool..
Bernie. That's what I collected before the truck load..
