Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

T1,
The reason there’s a highway to hell but only a stairway to heaven is that there’s more traffic going down than up.
Is that because the stairs are for the young and fit Everyone knows that after a certain age it's all down hill from there, maybe it's the baby boomers that have passed that "certain age" that could do with mobility access rather than stairs that aren't mobility impaired friendly, just saying, if you want improved traffic flow, access needs to be improved .... maybe a series of ramps along side the stairs .... it might take a bit longer, but the older you get, the less the rush
" So they're climbing the 'long and winding road' to heaven" needs work I reckon ......

The fact they gave George W a second term, we should be worried about them doing something similar.
I do understand his tactics, he can't campaign on doing economic things to help the middle and low end of the economy, that would not only hurt the top end, but hurt his money coming in that he's using to delay court proceedings .... with an interruption to his cash flow, legal people will think twice about letting him rack up big bills.
I think the other problem might be, he genuinely believes, the "Make America Great Again" will require the rich taking full control again and ride working class back to the levels his daddy achieved .... hard to do if they aren't down to a bare bones existence, scared to say anything in case they loose the little income they are getting ......
So, his ploy to start off addressing his method of making things great for all the American people by helping the little end of town .... then appearing to get side tracked and off into rants about how Harris will cancel their birthdays or something .... he believes, the little end of town thinks he is saying he will look after them, but just how serious the problems they would face if he wasn't re-elected are so important, to him, it drags him off course ..... the thinking people know he is desperate, he can't over turn and criminal convictions, court orders to pay settlements and no foreign country being too scared to chase money he owes them, if he isn't re-elected .... basically, this is his last chance to hold on to what he has, it will all be sold off otherwise ..... unless it is also a delaying tactic to get all the money and assets out of reach before anyone can actually lay hands on them .....

Interesting Terry, guess time will tell.
We were camping with a friend who had an American friend travelling with her when he was running last time, the friend told us he had no chance of being elected few weeks later he was President
Trump is also desperate to get back into power so he can pardon himself from the 38 convictions already proven and stop all the other insurrection and attempted vote-rigging charges against him currently being prepared.
The worry is that if he wins, the Proud Boys and his other moronic followers will become modern Brownshirts going after the “traitors” in the Democratic Party… and if he DOESN’T win they will become modern Brownshirts!
Regards & God bless,

Considering the current psychological state of human society, anything could happen in the US election and no matter which way it goes, may well end in calamity. Harris has her skeletons in the closet and Trump is decidedly deranged, which could mean he may flip if he loses and if he wins, goes on a pathological ego trip. Russia would be hoping Trump wins because of his statements about NATO, allies and Ukraine, China hopes he will win because they believe he will create turmoil with US allies and give china the opening they think will allow them to push their control and influence. Problem is Trump hates china.
As for Harris, she's a lawyer who are good at babbling but useless in the practical and political world because they lack a working brain, just an egocentric babbling ideological program. That's the problem within all countries political systems, they are run by drop kick over educated empty heads who don't have a clue about anything outside their office and egocentric head space.
We are seeing massive and calamitous weather events dumping huge amounts of rain, cyclonic winds and devastation, yet world politics carry on as though nothing is happening any different to the past and in reality, climate change hasn't even started yet. Going to be a very interesting and maybe frightening next 6-7 years for much of the world and this US election may give us an idea of how fast world societies will collapse, which seems inevitable on the path the world is being taken.

My thought for the day is " Sales people that cannot speak English should not be allowed". 2 today and neither could be understood.
I agree Dot, can be very frustrating dealing with people who can't speak our language and it happens all the time. I'm over this multiculturalism rubbish, and a few other controversial woke/left wing insanities. Time we had just one culture, Aussie so everyone is on the same page and understanding and not the current expanding insanity that allows everyone to be what they want, irrelevant to what they really are.
We had the Hobart hot august jazz festival yesterday, which was a great day of mostly contemporary jazz music. Had my first beer for over a year and even though it was a nice black, soon realised I'm no longer a drinker and after 3 craft beers, was pretty well wiped out, so cut the day short and headed home.
Selling my bus, don't need such a big rig any more and looking for a smaller one once it's gone, so my thought for the day is someone buy my bus so can get a cool 1988 coaster with series 80 cruiser turbo engine in it and just over 100000klms on it since a rebuild. Which is advertised at $14000 and has solar a/c and only lacks an internal shower, but that will be an easy job to do. Have to pull my lifepo4 system out of my bus and give it a quick paint job and clean up.
