Hello peoples :D I finally gave in after trying to battle the south Aust version of the RTA, NSW has nothing on that crowd. Even though I had a letter wth an evelope post marked and delivered to a Dotties address, it didn't prove that I was or had actually been at that adreess :? Somehow, Aust Post managed to understand the intracacies of such a difficult task, but it was well beyond the comprehension of the moror reg mob, quote " That doesn't prove such an address exists" :? As we didn't have a rent receipt to a SA address or an electricity or phone bill sent to an SA address, we weren't actually there at all. Then I suggested that a receipt from a caravan park would constitute proof rental of a piece of property in SA, the assistant had to clear that with the manager, yes, that would be ok. So we spent a night in a Ski Park on the Murray, went back to do battle today...... Brian handn't signed the correct part of the rego papers, so they couldn't do a tansfer..... what about a client number, then we can do it over the internet..... you can't have a client number unless you are making a transaction..... would transferig the rego constitute a transaction?.... you don't have the correctly signed papers...... nor would I with an internet transfer, but with a client number I can effect a transfer..... but you can't have a client number without making a transaction..... What if I transfer to a SA licence, would that constitute a trnsaction?...... but you don't have a proff of residence....... what about the caravan park receipt...... not acceptable...... so it would be acceptable for transferring the rego but not a licence? ..... but you don't have he correct piece of paper signed.... your just making this up as you go along aren't you....... That may not have been the best thing to say apparently  so, we gave up

The fan belt and alternator lasted all the way to Murray Bridge but it snuffed it by Tailem Bend, so we are back to charging the lithium batteries every 3 days, they have enough capacity to power everything including the engine stuff for 3 days, even the electric blankets  So we are at Underbool free camp again, got to the power point this time, so we are recharging tonight, then head on homeward bound toworrow, via Bob & Bev's place at Mildura, to return the GPS, and maybe get the Waeco looked at :D We only have 4 more days before Margaret has to be back at work, maybe one more recharge some where or a day's stop and the solar panels out and that should see us home.

Nice little rest stop this one at Underbool, hot showers, $3, power $10 a night, clean and reasonably quiet, free BBQ, picnic tables etc, if you get the spots behind the toilet/shower block, stops the road noise quite a bit :D

A good mate of mine was in a similar office and had a similar problem with a missing signature from his wife on a form. She was at home out of town. The form was handed back to him and he calmly said “I’ll just go out to the car and get her to sign it” and then signed his wife’s signature and handed the form back..

I think the way officialdom relies on signatures is a bit of a joke. None of the people receiving these forms could tell an original signature from a forgery anyway, maybe you should have taken the form back out to the car to get it “signed” correctly ;)

This might bring the lawyers out of the woodwork, but, in my opinion it is not an offence to sign someone else's name provided there is no intention to defraud. To sign your wife's name with her approval is OK - no need to try to copy her signature.

It is a different matter for a stat dec and some other documents.

Let the argument begin. ;)

Stat decs are also a joke, my thieving dead sister signed a stat dec to say she had mums permission to use her bank card while she (mum) was in a coma, didn't have her hearing aids on, was legally blind and yet she had mums permission?? even though the authorities knew she was fibbing they didn't pursue it ( said it wasn't worth it) .Have a nice hot shower T & M.& Safe travels home. :D

So tell me, how do these people who have sold up their homes to travel this wide brown land get on if they sell their van/motorhome etc and buy another vehicle?? how do they get to reregister the vehicle if they do not have an address?? and how can they sell a vehicle if they do not have an address?? and how the heck do they keep track of their whether their vehicle is registered if they do not have an address to send the rego too??? does this mean that they have to have stayed somewhere for 12 months and got bills to prove that they "live" somewhere? there must be some way around this.

We even tried to be honest, I wrote out a receipt for some dog food (for Chrunchy) with our address on it but apparently that wasn't good enough either even though it had the right address on it.. Friends of ours also use our address but they were already SA residents before they hit the road full time.

You need to have friends.
I have several addresses that I am able to use. The friends peruse and inform if they think it is important.
A envelope from ebay purchase should be valid just depends who is behind the window.
I had my newstart cancelled because some upstart OLD tart decided even though I had just completed over three months of full time voluntary work because I had not done 15 hours in the last fortnight she had the power to stop my payments.
She told me to re-register and get some names of people that I had asked for jobs.
Told her I would not tell lies to just satisfy her little ego.
I had three months to go to get the pension so wished her good day and told here I hoped she was able to sleep at night as she had no conscious and hoped she did not loose her job as she might find out how hard some petty arseholes are that work in CES. The smile faded from her face.
Best to have addresses in each state that you travel to as well as country and city as you never know how it will help. Besides it helps if you want something forwarded when you know you will visit someone and they will hold what ever is posted.
