So we went South to Kingaroy to have the John Guest fittings sorted out and met Denis the caravan repair bloke , who's in the Yellow Pages and is most helpful. He even won the Corona Six-pack award. I also found out that John Guest supply a small sleeve in the end of the tubing before inserting it in the valve itself to avoid leaks due to malformation.

Went cheerily down to the Nanango South free camp for the night, and reminded myself later that a torch would have been worthwhile carrying on a dark night when returning from the roadhouse with the ice creams.
