Alive and Well!

I've been into the tunnel, I've seen the light - but I came out again.

The surgeon came in to see me the next morning. He said: "Everything went well. You'll notice a huge difference." I said: "Longer or thicker?"

I'm back home. No pain but I'm not allowed to do anything strenuous for 3 or 4 weeks. That shouldn't be too hard! My urine has turned into a nice light red wine. Usually it's the other way round. Over the next weeks it should become a sauvignon blanc. I think something like this was done 2000 years ago.

So was there any pain at any stage? I reckon I’m destined for the same thing, once the Saw Palmetto is no longer effective. (Dot stay out of this - I want the report straight from the horses mouth as it were )

Simple answer is very little pain. There is the discomfort of the catheter that was in for about 36 hours. A little bit of stinging the first couple of pees without the catheter. Overall I would say that if you have to have an operation this is probably one of the better ones. There is no pain from the actual scene of the crime - so to speak.

I spent three nights in hospital but I think two nights is common. My op was late in the day which made the difference, I think.

I'm not sure that update should be used when discussing prostate surgery.

Actually, for this surgery it's done by sticking the cutting/cauterizing device through the urethra. There seems to be little damage done to the pipeworks. Don't read up how they do it until after it's done. It's not as bad as it sounds.
