I wonder how hard it would be to adapt the rear wheels to free wheeling hubs as well ....... that would make life much easier. I'll have to put the challenge to Jerry the master machinist and motorbike builder ...... I'll filter out the "not suitable for publication" words from his reply

Probably not possible Terry without a lot of re-engineering as the rear hubs aren't fully floating on most popular vehicles these days. Re-engineering the rear hubs, brakes and everything else involved would get expensive real quick.

Just gotta find out if it would be more than $2,000 plus labour expensive to make it either cheaper or more expensive than the dog clutch idea on the rear of the gearbox transfer case. I'd imagine the dog clutch would also require a shortened tailshaft.
