Thanks Terry, I will look at the links shortly. I did a bit of research into Bruce's Hammerite; ok over rusted metal, galvanise metal but requires a special primer for aluminium and if painting over existing paint it may cause it to lift off. Nothing is simple and i am now thinking of getting the spray gun out but don't wish to get paint over the burgundy driveway where the bus is parked so even that is not simple.

Re: Painting problem
If you are going to spray any of those products I linked to, you will need to cover everything if you plan to spray it, it will stick to every surface it settles on, over spray is just a not very thickly applied coat, it will not come off using that over-spray removal clay. But thinned and applied with a roller or brush and the end result will come out well with minimal brush stroke marks if any visible.

Re: Painting problem
I sprayed the bus with Rust Guard Epoxy Enamel. Did it in purple.
George, you could do it in the same colour as the bricks.

Re: Painting problem
Ahhh.... but if the bottom section of the bus was the same colour as the driveway, applying the second coat could become confusing .... where do you start and where do you stop .... I'm thinking I should stop now actually
