Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Can’t find it now, but a while ago I posted about our local weather forecast being out, often by several degrees — usually lower than our home readings by 5 degrees or so.
There followed a discussion on the location of the Stevensons Screen, which is the box containing the instruments.
In an idle moment yesterday I rummaged through the BoM website and FINALLY found the location of our local station.
It’s not 6km out of town as I was told by a local.
It’s 9.4km away! (That’s just under 6 MILES in the old money.)
Here’s Google Maps showing it.

I used to take the BOM readings sometimes at the Smelters in Port Pirie. It was at the first aid station and often the sprinkler was going as they wanted Piries temp to be less than Whyalla and Port Augusta to give them a better chance to get staff
12 × 5 house boat moored at the present in Mannum Waters Marina.
Converting to LiFePo4 for float alone status
Remember the Coolgardie fridge? What about a shelter built using the same principle with shade cloth walls around a gazebo, a sprinkler hose around the upper part of the roof to keep the roof temp down and misting kits set up to spray the inside of the shade cloth with water, that way the shelter becomes a big swampy ..... but then inside the house with the reverse cycle air con pumped up to turbo mode would be the better option eh

You still see quite a lot of people sitting in their carport around here. It took me a while to realise that they are using it get the 'breeze way effect'. Initially I thought they were just a bunch of piss heads having a cleansing ale with the neighbours.
Cheers

That’s why we uprooted & scrapped the rotary clothes line in the middle of the back yard and mounted a fold-down line under our carport. Breeze almost permanently, and on rainy days we can still hang out the washing. Takes longer to dry, but it DOES dry.
On days like the current heatwave, one load is dry by the time a second load finishes washing (on occasions like sheet-washing day)!
