Thought for Today

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Oh sorry, he said, 3 sows and a pig.... I really need to borrow Dave's hearing aids. I think they said the manager was called Nigel.

Ah, Nigel. The master of smoke and mirrors. And appraiser of Japanese paintings I believe.
Jon, I am not lending my hearing aids to anyone. I don't care how many pigs he has, or not.

I am sick of it. Smarmy a..ed fake actors. Yuk and double yuk.
Stop watching TV and go on You Tube Premium so you get to skip ads completely ..... you get to see some great engine teardown videos on I Do Cars, some great cop chases, crazy truck and car crashes, no prep street racing both here in Aust and the US, some spectacular engine blow-ups in tractor pulling ..... it just goes on and on, all great viewing, you just don't get that on TV these days ;)

Sounds like the tale a mate tells from when he worked for a while at Burrinjuck Dam. They had to dump some water and partially opened the gates .... and to do the right thing, phoned all the properties close down stream to let them know.
He gets this fella with a very broad Scottish ascent shout back in panic, ahh, me kids and drops the phone .....
They all rush down to this farm to see if they can help, thinking they might have drowned this blokes children ...... only to find it was a goat farm and all the baby goats had successfully swum from the island where they were grazing, back up the hill once the water level was high enough for them to clear the fence
The fact the island wasn't part of the old blokes property, so the fencing wasn't legal, didn't seem to matter to the bloke, he was demanding compensation for his ruined fences

I've seen enough car and truck crashes to last me a lifetime. Driving towtrucks in Melbourne back in the 80's will do that for you. And engine blow ups, nup had enough and seen enough of them too.
One day we'll get Netflix or something. I just can't stand that particular Trivago ad.
Cheers

I found this on farcebook but thought that it was appropriate to post it here. No idea who the original author was.

Something to ponder
If I give you $1 billion and you stand on a street corner handing out $1 per second, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, you would still not have handed out $1 billion after 32 years!! Now read on
A VERY BIG NUMBER
This is too true to be funny.

The next time you hear a politician use the word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about whether you want the 'politicians spending YOUR tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend, but one advertising agency did a good job of putting that figure into some
perspective in one of its releases.
A.
A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
B.
A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
C.
A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.
D.
A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.
E.
A billion Dollars ago was only 13 hours and 12 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.
WOW !!!
Now think about these things…..
Stamp Duty
Tobacco Tax
Corporate Income Tax
Income Tax
Council Tax
Unemployment Tax
Fishing Licence Tax
Petrol/Diesel Tax
Alcohol Tax
G.S.T.
Property Tax
Service charge taxes
Social Security Tax
Vehicle Licence / Registration Tax
Vehicle Sales Tax
Workers Compensation Tax
Carbon Dioxide Tax

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?

Not one of these taxes existed 60 years ago and our nation was one of the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt.
We had the largest middle class in the world. Mum stayed home to raise the kids, Dad and teachers were allowed to discipline kids.
A criminals life was uncomfortable.
Boat people were kids sailing on the harbour.
What the hell happened?
'Political Correctness', ‘Politicians or both?' I hope this goes around Australia and beyond at least 100 times!
Cheers

A Trillion dollars is 1,000 Billion dollars
US debt is USD $36 Trillion dollars, Trump's Big Beautiful Bill would add another USD$3.8 Trillion dollars to that debt.

One Trillion US Dollars is AUD $155890 Trillion Dollars ..... does that put into perspective the level of debt the US faces and has to find a way to at least cover the interest every year, as well as pay out bonds that mature yearly, 5 yearly and 10 yearly, as well as the interest due ..... and the interest rate is climbing by the day ...... USD $3.8 Trillion added on top of that ....... Seriously, who would even fund it? Who would consider the risk of buying US bonds a good deal these days, not matter what the interest rate offered .... would you feel confident the money would ever be repaid?
