Thought for Today

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

My thought for today is ......
Got the power bill for 31 days today for $240,00
Last month it was $100.00 for 30 days.
I know power has gone up, but by 140% and we still get our solar rebate of 44 cents pr kwh.
Yes we have had the air con on but only in the morning and never more that 2 hrs at 19 degrees.
So this is my thought, we are all getting ripped off.

Wow, our power bill is only $120 mth and we have the air con running a lot ..... I'd be checking the meter readings ... it might be an estimate bill and in that case, refuse to pay it and tell them to come and read the meter properly .....

When we had our custom kitchen designed and installed 11 years ago the ‘Other Utensils’ drawer was specifically made deeper to accommodate those items. 😁
Are you telling us that you have DEEP DRAWERS ?
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

"tanks" ---here

I agree with the "estimate" matter. My last account was for $386.28, as estimated reading.
I disputed this amount, and a reviewed account was issued 120 days later for $26.50 after the previous credits were applied.

Yes, Keith, but sometimes they are a bit tight. 😉😁

Here endeth the lesson for today.
Note that there will be a question on this in the end-of-term examination.
🤣

ps. Jon,
(Or is that IJon? 😁)
Two is a number.
If you wish to express ‘as well’ in the short form, the word is ‘too’.
And as an afterthought, what I have used above are referred to as ‘single quotes’. The other ones are called “double quotes”. The general rule is: double quotes for speech; single quotes for other stuff.
I know it’s a bit confusing when the same symbol does triple duty as both a quote mark (single and double) and an apostrophe.
All clear now? 😊
And a ps.
(Note that ‘ps’ is always lower case, even especially at the start of a sentence.)
Adding an apostrophe before the S to make a noun plural is WRONG! Just add the S or ES as required.
