Buy 2 tape measures and one cut for the price of an oops.

No matter how many times I measured it, the inverter was still going to be too long for the space I had to fit it. I did get it into the spot, but it just doesn't look right. Victron aren't keen on them laying flat and that is the only other way there will be enough room for it to fit .... pity they don't sell a dwarf model. the original Multiplus would fit fine, it's just they don't make a 12v 5000kva model, only 24v and 48v. I'd be happy to change it to a 48v system, if it didn't require so much extra work, including adding a 12v battery to power all the 12v stuff .....

Unfortunately, retro fit is never easy ......

What is inside the MH above the batteries Terry? Maybe the inverter/charger could be inside with a couple of conduits running cables up & down from it? Any cupboards or ??

With 12v appliances that can pull sudden heavy short term loads, the converter has to be massively oversized, so we found it was much easier to add a small capacity battery and keep it charged with a 240vac to DC converter dialled down to 13.6v.
Relays, contactors and other gear associated with the battery management system have a sudden, yet very short term current draw and this was what was killing the 24/12 converters.
The 12v starter battery linking with the 12v supply when the ignition was switched on and starter engaged, some of the 12v gear has dual power supply, are all very hard on a power supply unless a big capacitor is added to the circuit, an LFP battery serves this purposed perfectly.

Possibility Bruce, it is directly below the shelves and cupboard by the door that replace the captains chair that was there when the Winnie was first built.

Thank you for that suggestion Bruce, I wasn't game to even suggest it But, Surprise, surprise, I must have done a good sell on the idea, she isn't over the moon about the whole idea, but with Brian's help, I think I can modify the shelves that are there at the moment to enclose the inverter and still leave small shelves accessed by the doorway and the top shelf that is handy for "putting stuff" The box/cupboard in front can remain, a window cut in it to view the inverter lights if needed, and that is where the air fryer lives when not in use ..... Maybe we can enclose it enough to hide it and muffle any fan noise .... although the Multiplus11 has moved the fan to mid height of the inverter case on top of the heatsinks, so that should help with noise limiting as well.

As an Added bonus, a slight modification of the hold I cut in the battery compartment, and modifying the battery end plates The washing machine will fit in there

Sure, I'll incorporate that into the mega $$$ trailer We already have a bath, the base of the shower, just not the stretch out and relax size. We could take one of those portable spas with us ..... but to be honest, I can't remember the last time I climbed into a spa bath .... so the priorities aren't high for that luxury item

So, I suppose that now removes any chance of fitting a slide out kind of arrangement to park the MG4 4 in and have it disappear under ther Winny.
Bugger.
It does actually make more sense to head down the path you are now travelling on.

It's insured, so if it disappears under the Winnie, we can make yet another claim Through no fault of our own, we might be reaching the point of being uninsurable soon

After all that feeling good about getting the battery in and bolted down and basically wired into the system .... it all has to come out again because the batteries need to mount cross ways rather than longways, and all the wiring would end up behind the washing machine meaning the washing machine would need to be dropped out the floor every time I need to even check it for tight nuts and bolts .....

I'll put it down to practice runs, it should be much easier the third time around
