Ha ha I do have a good supply of 500mm slide outs that slide out 3 times. Left over from the benches I never got made at the house. You could possible mount the washing machine and just slide it in and out to use, as well as to get to the battery wiring. Also save Marg lifting the machine in and out

Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
It would have been a great idea, but the washing machine is taller than the opening in the compartment, so it has to go in from the bottom with the false floor removed ...... and the Winnie raised another 700mm at least to get enough height clearance underneath.
I will need your help to modify the shelves by the door, so they fit around the inverter ..... you up for that? It will free up the 3000w Multiplus so I can install it in the houseboat

Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
haha .... bribery?
How about you fit it in the houseboat first? lol.
How much/many conduits do you need Terry?
One for solar... or 2? (some have connections for 2 solar feed ins)
One for 240v in?
One for 240v out?
One for 12V in/out?
I think I have some 1/2" or maybe 3/4" here. (& some bigger)Need to check I guess.
Hole saw?

That's a rather personal question to ask on an open forumBruceS wrote: ↑Sat Mar 08, 2025 1:04 pm haha .... bribery?

To be honest, I haven't even looked through what I have left to know what I don't have ..... I can't even find the hydraulic crimper I bought after the last round of fires ..... wondering if I left it on the job at Port Pirie and the "I know everything" sparky grabbed it .....

Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
The inverter saga continues
It fits but ..... yeah- nah
So, the new spot for the inverter is where these shelves are
The shelves and cupboard are now out, the inverter is out of the battery compartment, the double power point that would have been in the way has been relocated and the first trial fit has been done with the hole marked for the first retaining screw .......
It's rather warm here at the moment, so time for a coffee, then a preliminary attachment to see if everything still fits ...... then start making holes for cabling ...... tomorrow

Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
While Margaret is over nighting at Flinders Hospital, I thought I'd take on the challenge of fitting the washing machine in where the inverter didn't fit.
Batteries back out again, a bigger hole cut in the floor ..... but a bit like the inverter, a rather tight fit requiring 100mm mor clearance under the floor than was available .....
Maybe I can take the base off to make it shorter .... well .... that became a tad more involved ......
Here is the washing machine partly fitted
Will require some assembly
The red coloured half round lump is one of the weights that go on the tub to dampen the violent jumping up and down ..... it is heavy ..... managed to drop it on the Japanese steel caps as I tried to get the stuff closer to the assembled stage ..... I reckon I'll know by tomorrow if I broke the toes on my right foot ..... again, or they are just bruised .... they have a neat valley across where the knuckle would normally be ..... but that was probably from a previous dropping something on the foot .... every toe on both feet have been broken at least once so by this stage it's getting hard to identify new injuries
Needless to say, work has ceased for the day and a number of bottles of pain taming elixir will be consumed before bed time

Re: Our "New to Us" Winnie
I can't make the hole bigger, but I can reassemble it in the battery compartment. To make the hole deep enough for the washing machine to slip up from the bottom, the rails that carry the weight would have to be cut .... easier to disassemble the washing machine and rebuild it in the compartment ......
