Not only was I going to fit it myself I have fitted it myself :) Been busy for a few days ;)

Yep planned all along on fitting it myself and finished the job yesterday. Test drive when the rain stops.

Invisibrake and voltage reducer are under the drivers seat. Invisibrake is bolted to a shelf I made and the converter stuck to the carpet with velcro. There is a warning light on the M/H dash when the brakes on the toad are applied and has an audible alarm if the brakes stay on for more than 20 seconds. I used the 'service brake' wire in a 7 core trailer wire for this connection rather than run a separate wire between Wilbor and the Suzy. The invisibrake is great. It is air operated and has a vacum pump connected to the Suzy's toad brake system. It operates off the brake light from the M/H and is fully adjustable. It is powered off the Susy's battery and charges the battery while towing via the tail light circuit (you must drive with the M/H tail lights on)

Roadmaster instructions were very easy to follow with good illustrations.

I did have some reservations about the wiring harness but I bought a Suzuki repair manual with wiring diagrams on a CD and found everything I needed. The wiring went very smoothly

I had to get a 10" HI/LOW hitch because Wilbor's tow bar is 72cm off the ground

The jury is still out on any requirement for certification in Qld :!:

Yep I have safety cables for it :) and break-away brake cable and trailer light cable and under tow sign :)

I did think about leaving it high, but only for a millisecond

Is the last photo the before? Or after the hitch parts are removed? Very nice job. I think NSW is the only state where the hitch attachment to the towed vehicle has to be engineered as well.

Yep everything in NSw has to be engineered, A frame, towing attachment on the car the bloody lot. I don't think even the engineer details from the selling interstate dealer are accepted here as far as I know. Reckon you would have to be stiff to be pulled up, but there was a dedicated cop a few years ago on the south coast that took it upon himself to rid NSW of interstate A frames. That was a while ago but they are still out there. The sooner we get to Commonwealth standards the better.

No Terry, the last photo is of the Suzy after the bracket was installed but with the quick disconnect attachments removed. The quick disconnect attachments fix to each side with 2 pins and the crossbar attaches to these with 2 pins. Then the towbar (aframe) attaches to the cross bar with 2 pins. This is the look when driving around when not motorhoming.

Thanks Rob, I want to a frame the kombi behind the big bus and your set up looks just the thing. I have that much engineering paperwork required for the bus mods a few more for an A frame aren't going to matter much

Finally a bit of good weather and some spare time to road test the A-Frame. Not going far today, just a couple of back roads and a lap on the highway testing the brakes then home. Tomorrow up to Cardwell for a couple of days. Cardwell Range should be a good test
