I did survive the heat, but my post last night disappeared into the ether! Cassilis was so crowded, that we couldn't fit in. So we headed off to Gulgong, where it was a mere 48 degrees!

Dot, don't wilt in the heat.

Today we wandered down the road to Parkes and it's just as bloody hot here! Thanks to Mr Jayco for the airconditioned comfort (no not being sarcastic, truthfully it works ok). Our jayco group have booked out a dozen sites at Parkes showgrounds for the week. We just arrived a day earlier than planned. We hope to see a fair bit of the Elvis festival, but it us very weather and parking dependent. A lot of the performances are held in the local parks and today the council were very busy building shade structures all around the place.
It has been a very long day, so I am off to read in a cool bed.

Not being naughty Dot, just totally knackered with this heat and not really a lot of tv to watch due to storm activity, so the good book (not that good book) in bed is my answer. HMV is already snoring.

We had a doozy of a storm last night after I was on here. Spectacular light show and thunderous applause followed by huge rain drops for a couple of hours. This afternoon, we had the same entertainment and hopefully it will blow over soon. Sighted our first fat Elvises today and that's even before the real start of the show tomorrow. I'm not really an Elvis fan, but this is an experience that I didn't want to miss. This mad jayco mob, would make the opening of an envelope into a huge party.
