headed out of bendigo about 9.30ish and made ballarat by lunch time. madie went to sleeep so i didnt stop at some places i was going to today but thats ok im heading back that way later so all good.
just messaged ros and left another note for homeless.
my uncle fixed madies bike and we went to the lake for a play.
found the local bus route is just round the corner so we can go to town tomorrow and have a look around the big smoke.
yea dottie today wasnt as bad today as yesterday.

AM. While you're in Ballarat take Madie to Mackas on Bakery Hill, and have a look at the early photos of Ballarat that are hanging on the walls throughout the building.
They were all taken and donated to Mackas by Mels Cousin, Max Harris.
The previous owner was a friend of Max but passed away a couple of years ago.

Am
I don't think Brian checks his email every day.
The train only runs a few days per week Wed Sat and Sun. Details are available on http://www.vgr.com.au/timetable.html
Maldon is a lovely vintage tourist town with many ( most of them) original buildings and shops. Not much for a little girls but good coffee and antiques etc.
The steam train is always impressive and they let a fair bit of steam and smoke out to make sure the visitors appreciate the spectacle. We got there in the afternoon and watched it come in after a days trip.
I mentioned that we had thought that we might catch up on the way and he mentioned that he thought you would drop in.
If you get there say hi for us.

Re: the road trip begins 2012/13
Check for the weather before you come Am as we are not running the steam when it is hot due to fire bans.
Ran the diesel on the weekend.
I can get you connected to power if you stay the night but as John said there is not much for Maddie to do around here.
Will send the PM with my phone number so we can contact that way to make it easier.
Regards
Brian
