Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Freeway traffic here is a breeze compared to other cities Deborah. Hope it isn't as hot there as it is going to be here for the next week. I have put out about 6 big plant pot saucers out under the trees for any bird or animal that needs to cool off. Pete the corella will most likely come inside on the real nasty days and the galahs have their misters. Just saw on telly that there is 72 gender types???? WTF is going on in this stupid world?? You are either male or female or so I was told ?? Anyway time for bed e buys, goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Cuppa & Julie x :D Keep cool everyone..

"tanks" here---Dot,
I had my Sister get me a pedestal type bird bath from Bunnings for $38.00.
The bowl stands about 2 ft high and is about 18 inches across and 2 inches deep.
It is full of water at present because we have had rain at the Bunker for the past few days.
The birds love to have a splash around and also a drink on the hot days.
I have placed it under the mango tree in the back yard.
I now want another for the front yard, so anyone passing Bunnings on the way to Dysart please bring me one.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Thanks for the heads up on the bird bath Keith. Didn't realise Mr B had so many different varieties. Will keep you in mind when we can get back to travelling.
Cheers

Dot, I'm glad that you have better freeways than ours, wouldn't take much. I refuse to drive in Sydney now, just terrifies me. Your birdlife sound very spoilt, but in this heat, they need extra help. xxxx

I left a few water filled plant saucers under a shady tree, before we left home. Sounds like we are going to share the heatwave this week too. Bellingen looks like being just as hot.

We drove all the way to Bellingen today. We hadn't planned to come all the way, but there was no traffic and the drive seemed ok, so we just kept on motoring along until we got here. We have promised each other, to sleep in, in the morning and then we will wander across the field to the farmers markets and stock up on fresh fruits n vegs.

Been a long day here, so goodnight one and all xxx

Twas a real stinker today and the birds appreciated their showers for sure. Brian never ventured out at all until the blazing heat had gone down but a quick pee and he was back inside. One day down and another 6 or so days to go with this heat. Enjoy the farmers market Deborah and also your sleep in. Started watching "the Life Of Brian" but went to sleep and missed half, but then I just had to watch "Ghost" again and again     So time to say goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Pet-els x :D

Stay cool Dot, it sure is hot. xxxx

His nibs wasn't happy with where our van was put last night. So while I was trying to sleep in, he was out n about sussing out the whole showgrounds for a better site. As he wandered around, a van moved out of a site that he decided he wanted. I woke to hear the legs of the van being wound up. Not a great awakening I can assure you. He put the prado right across the front of the site, so nobody else could take it Anyway, I rushed to shower and dress. He put our table and chairs across the front of the site, while we hooked up and drove the van around to the new site. He drove while I moved the furniture out of his way. Van is in a better spot now, with some afternoon shade from a huge shed right next to us. I finally had some breakfast, tidied the van again and went to the markets. The markets were a bit shabby really, not many stalls and the ones there were not cheap (too familiar these days). I bought some finger limes and a few jacobinia plants. They are pretty shrubs that I have been looking for since we left one behind in our Sydney house.. So I reckon that with 4 plants, I should have at least one survivor. They were a bargain at $5 each, so all we have to do now is keep them alive until we get home.

goodnight you lot xxx

Hope you get a better night's sleep with the coolness Dot xxxx

Yep farmers markets we usually avoid, it's a bit hard to ignore them when you are parked up right next to them. The plants are still alive, that's a plus.

Today we went to the high school to complete enrolment. That was really a non event. A guide showed me where the classroom is, a stack of name tags and booklets were on the table, take your name tag and tick off the box. That was it. I took the time to wander down to the canteen before it got too busy. I ordered lunches for the week, just like being back at school. They will deliver to the room each day, wow.

All this non excitement and heat has worn me out, so sleep well you lot, nighty night xxx

Weird day on LM Deborah, again the weather didn't know what it wanted to do, cloudy, overcast, a little muggy, rain clouds hanging around, some sunshine & a southerly wind that blew for several hours, maybe a better day tomorrow.
Time for me to sign off. Goodnight Dot :D

Wow Shirley, glad that we were not home then. The weather in Bellingen is hot (35 today) but we had a lovely breeze for most of the day, so not complaining here. Hope the lake behaves better for you tomorrow.

Dot, hoping the breezes are around you too xxxx

It was weird being in a school and not having any real responsibilities. I enjoyed the learning side, but find the teacher very frustrating. He is determined to have us make things the old fashioned way and while using very old and crappy tools. After a while, I gave up on part of my piece and teacher took the piece over to his fancy dremel and cleaned up my mistakes in a few seconds. Obviously, if I were working on this at home, I would use my power tools, but I almost can see his method has some good points. I am just not happy with using tools that are antiquated, when there are so many better ways to do things. I wanted to learn the modern ways. Some of the students had a get together at lunch time and discussed better ways of doing each step that we had to follow today, so at least we are learning from each other.

Hope you all sleep well in this heat, nighty night xxx
Deborah
