The B.I.L. worked there when it re opened, had many stories about things that happened out there and he considered the mine closure was political, not a lack of ore but maybe the changes to safe work practices could have been something to do with it as well.....he went on to work at Mt Isa, then Camooweal, then returned to live on the property farm hand work
I guess the same will happen with many of the mining towns now coal is a dirty word and iron ore isn't work the cost of digging it up

Did you actually see the mine (pit)? Far from the original town?

Good to see you finally found some blue skies! Battery filling up each day must feel a bit different than when in Victoria.

Yep Bruce the batterys are doin fine.
Thought about putting Carol in the toad with the motor running to help on some of the hills on the Barkley the don't measure in height just kilometres.
We just about now know the full account of the whole village twas a big place in its day. That old song about owing ones sole to the company store rings true here.
