I just had a bit more of a think about tomorrow and I'm thinking I won't be knocked out for it as they haven't restricted my diet at all. If they are going to put you under it's nil by mouth for at least 12hrs before hand isn't it?

Best of luck mate.
Will be thinking of you today and hope that you wake up a new man.
Margaret will have to watch out for a while as the thought of no headache and no aspirin to be found, the mind boggles :P
Hope the results are worth it as we all know the pain you suffer and yet still are able to do all the things you do.
Give that typing finger a rest for a while and sit back in your chair out the back and hopefully enjoy a well earned rest and enjoy the serenity of a clear head and a good duriff or two. Have a Port from the keg and tell me if it is worth coming for a top up (hope it is not empty yet).
Regards
Brian

The keg is improving with age Brian, hopefully it hasn't all leaked out this time  It's been a few mths since the last sampling so I might just have a taste test later 8-) were you planning to drop in and top it up some more 8-) I'll have make room then I guess

Well, no knock out drugs, awake for the whole thing, all done with local anaesthetic injections, I think 5 all up, then lie there real still in about the most uncomfortable position they can find
I was silly enough to watch the TV screens every so often, 3 needles into each nerve site, 3 nerve roots fried. The strangest sensation like he had slipped a balloon in there and was pumping it up but I think the local anaesthetic hurt more than the burning bit. At one stage he must have hit the nerve going into the joint area of the left shoulder :o that gave me a bench mark for the max pain level
They stick a patch across the lower back and that must be the exit point for what ever they feed in because I could feel each one down a different part of my spine, a weird sensation but not all that painful. Now the left side of my neck feels like I've been hit a few times with a baseball bat but at least the headaches haven't followed like they usually do. They say it could be a few weeks before I really notice an improvement, ha, not having a splitting headache is an improvement already :D I just hope when the local wears off the headaches don’t return.

Now the local has worn off the muscle in the left shoulder to neck area feels like it's been torn, possibly it spasmed while the needles were in there. No headache on the left hand side.. yeah, a bit of a headache on the right handside behid the eye and in the temple area witrh a few sharp twinges, but that is heaps better than before so at the moment I'm calling it a big win :D

Thankyou all for you good wishes and thoughts, it really is appreciated, helps a whole lot in the staying positive state of mind thing.

Glad all went well Terry.
Suggest you and Margaret sit out side with Jake and Crunchy and you both take a couple of samples just to make sure all is OK.
I will be by mid Jan or similar to look at the trailer plan and see how we go.

Too cold here at the moment Brian, even the mozzies have put their over coats on.

The area where I felt all the pain in the muscle between my shoulder joint and the neck now has a lump the diam. of a tennis ball and about half the height of half a tennis ball, quite painful to move the arm or the shoulder, hope that goes away by the morning
