Scratch that thought. Just rolled back through this thread to June 20something. Maybe an unresolved transmission issue.
For your sake T1, I hope not. That's all you'd need.

I'm glad you deciphered the coded message Dave, it went so far over my head it didn't even ruffle the hair

Today I finally got the piece of vapour transfer hose fitted between the gas converter and mixer, I was about to start it up and see if the made up top radiator hose sorted the water leak .... and I was instructed that we had to go shopping and visit Jenny in hospital .... she is back while they sort out just what is going on with her health, no energy, didn't even get out of bed for 2 days and wasn't really on the planet.

She looked a lot better today when we visited and she is back on ward, yesterday she was in ICU, blood transfusions and more permanent feeds into veins, in her neck this time :?
No idea when she will be home again yet .....

Try again tomorrow to get it running and see if that is all the water leaks sorted, then I can start making up LPG high pressure hoses.

Still no grandson, but a trip to the doctor and where ever determined the baby was facing the wrong way around .... but some how determined it weighted 4.8kg ..... They offered to induce the birth or a C section ....... surprise, surprise, she elected to have it cut out  Hopefully they will have a bed available tomorrow and maybe we will have a grandson delivered .......

Please explain the prob now Prof1. June 20th? So what is the winnie running or not running on Gas, lith Geeze I would have a nooky than a belly cut. They could of manually turned the baby but ouch and they do measurements via ultrasound to get babies weight. My little gofer thing arrived today, it needs some work & ? batteries but with a bit loving tinkering she should come up ok.

Roughly 10lb 6oz Dottie, would you really prefer to have the delivery natural as your 1st

At the moment, the Winnie is running on petrol, until I replace the burst gas hoses. It seemed to be running smooth after the plugs and coils were changed, but the hole it to top radiator hose needed to be sorted and that was easier with the engine cover not yet bolted down, so that had to be done before I took it for a test drive.

As we will be heading off in a few days (I'm guessing) I may as well replace the LPG hoses now to reduce the fuel cost for the trip home.

Well, the top radiator hose replacement went well and it seemed I had sorted the water leaks .... till I turned the motor off and crawled underneath to start removing LPG hoses .... drip, drip, drip .... Climb under the front ..... the area the water is appearing from indicates a water pump leak, or at least in that area ..... that will require regular water refills till we get back to Mannum ..... then it will be decision time, the whole front area needs to be stripped out to get to the water pump ..... it will depend just how much of a job that is to whether the motor comes out and the Lexus V6 and electric drive transmission goes in, or I just replace the water pump .... or I pull the heads while I'm at it to see why no1 cyl still has low compression ..... I am rapidly growing tired of this game ....

Anyone know where I can buy a bottle of water pump seal restore? ;)

or I pull the heads while I'm at it to see why no1 cyl still has low compression
Could it be the valves aren't sealing?

Could be the inlet is slightly bent, maybe hit the piston. The questions are, which is greater job, and just how much do I want to do either of them

If I pull the motor out to do the work, I'm halfway there to converting it to a hybrid, if I do the heads and water pump insitu, how much harder on my body?

I'll get it back to Mannum before I decide which is the lesser evil.

Removed one of the LPG lines that had been snaked across the chassis to take up the excess length .... strange thing to do when the hoses have the reusable fittings, why not just shorten them ..... Winnebago Aust do some strange things at times ....

In the back of my mind, I keep thinking about the head to head drag up a hill after leaving the Jugiong camp ground. A brother/sister Winnie Explorer also towing, but a small Jeep wheels down, and rear engine diesel, and us with the MG4 on a trailer, so over 2 tonne, and we out pulled it on the climb, with ease, and it was "rolling coal" as the yanks call it, lots of black smoke so the pump was turned up.

So, even running on 9 out of 10 cyl, it still goes hard .... do I just do the water pump?

Why don't you wait til you get back to Mannum, then have a little think first. Maybe pull all the gear out of the Mercedes and see how your body is going after that. You may find that you are physically unable to do that stuff anymore. I know I can't do what I used to be able to.
At least that way you would know your limitations and still have a vehicle that you can at least drive.
Surely a waterpump replacement would have to be less of an ordeal than a major drive train conversion, remembering that you don't really have a covered workplace anymore.
Cheers
