We made it 4480ks from start to here in 16 days. Not too bad if I say so myself. Great welcoming committee of waving arms and legs but no pussies in sight. Wendy had them safely busbound. Well the last night we spent at West Peawah River Rest area, signs specifically said no fires and no grey water to be left. Packed in like scared rabbits and bugga me 2 camp fires going, and rught outside our door the caravan people had their showers and just let the water gush forth onto the ground all soapy stuff mixed with carrots and goobies. What the hell they are above any rules. Then there was the dump point manners/ decency = NIL they just tip and leave their turds where ever they may fall, no aiming for the hole Oh no not them. We being holier than thou at least swilled ours down with a bucket of our washing up water. Even Chuck (a caravan man) did this for the benefit of the next user. . We have seen the best and worst of some people on this trip and it certainly makes ones hairs curl.. Truckies up here are a different breed, they are polite and their language is not as naughty apart from one time at band practice Lots of road kill (beef) great for Terry. Dump points out in the woop woops (no wash water) but they are there. Terrible internet and phone coverage everywhere except for now and again in the bigger towns. Filled the 9kg gas bottle today in Karratha $44 Tanks got one bit wrong but hey he is a male after all, I was sitting waiting for the GG's to pull finger at the water refilling place when I noticed a caravan make I had not seen many of and knowing my old school friend Ros and her husband John had that make so I looked closer and bugga me it was them heading for 40 mile, tried them on ch 40, 18, then 20 but no reply so had to get the address book out to text them yep they were here. So they ended up next to us.. Ros and I went to school many yrs ago in Sunbury Vic. How's that huh?? After having a cuddle with the motley crew it was time for a wee bit of a gathering under the Wendy awning till everyone departed for meals etc then seeing I was the only one left G came and rescued Wendy & Ash from me.. Rather tired so will fill you in a bit more when the eyes and brain are in gear a bit more.. WE MADE IT woo hoo.. Very pretty here as well.
