Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dot, sounds like the hospital A&E were just being too lazy to properly investigate what could become a serious issue for the patient. As for stay at home, how flamin hard is it? Difficult and boring at times, yes, but our health is at stake here. Not leaving home any time soon...medical appointments will be an exception and that will be straight into surgery and out again. No stopping anywhere else. Stay sane-ish mate xxxx

Today I decided to watch what the kiln was doing. Definitely edumicational. After only a few minutes of turning it on, it started to turn itself off and declared power fail. Then the interesting bit, it restarted within a few seconds, ran another couple of minutes and repeat the powerfail thing. After a long time, it settled down to just getting on with the job and I kept a watch on it every 15 minutes while I did a bit of gardening close by. David, I reckon the threshold settings on the controller are looking pretty likely now. I had a very bright light turned on (from the same power circuit) and it never flicked, not even a tiny bit. I will fire up the old kiln soon, using it's own different controller but on the same power point, just to be sure the point is not causing issues. Somehow, I don't think so.

Nighty night all xxx

Early goodnight from me as really tired ? I rang my old friend in NZ to see how he was coping, I told him we had watched that Michael Mosley (sp) and that there was a guy on the show that had just been diagnosed with the same strange condition as him (NFD) (google it) he also said he knew that Dr Mosely from his working days as specialist anesthetist when in UK, small world isn't it? Anyway since my friend was diagnosed he has gone back to how he was, so sad that his wife died without seeing him recover :( Anyway he went through all his usual questions about my health issues and gave me the usual pep talk :( Such a beautiful man, I want to get to see him before he pops off. Dam covid. So now it is Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Toolman x :D

All that talk just wore you out hey Dot? Stay sane-ish mate xxxx

David, you are so kind, thanks for your great input xxx

Today was another frustrating kiln day. I am working on a piece that needs the size of the bigger kiln, so it will be needed for a while yet. At least one more firing day after this one. The kiln only turned itself off twice, but at difficult times for the glass. Nevermind, I have it all under control-ish. It has done the biggest temp and is starting on a slow program to cool down over several hours. I figure it should be finished by 5am, but not likely me getting to the shed anywhere near that time. Obviously, I have nowhere else to go for entertainment at the moment, so the shed is being kept busy.

Goodnight everyone xxx

Another nice day but there was some gusty winds last night or maybe it could of been Terry  1 more egg but it must of been laid from a higher branch as it was cracked, surely they must stop sometime but with spring coming soon  Boring TV as usual so I followed the instructions on the pastry cover to make an apple and rhubarb pie, I pledge from now on I will not attempt baking again. Pastry was as tough as old boots I had no show but Gman managed but he always manages food. I'm off to bed e buys now so goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Chuck x

Dot, if we ever get to cross paths, I will try to help you to cook a proper apple pie. That is one of my Mums secret recipes and the pastry is almost as light as a sponge. Rolling pin is required tho, no real cheating allowed  Stay warm and sane xxxx

Our David has been a real supersparky and we think the kiln problem may have been solved. With a few tweaks to the system, following his wise suggestions, today it fired on all cylinders and is running a marathon and still no breaks in transmission. YAY

I stayed in my shed for 5 hours today, totally supervising it as it went through several phases. After fiddling around with power leads and plugs, I reckon David was right on the money. As I type, it is now doing a very super slow cooling down cycle and will be interesting to see tomorrow.

Gladys has kindly expanded our sentence for another month minimum, so we are stuck here for even longer It might be time to get the caravan set up down the yard and have a camp out, it must be getting lonely down there in the bottom of the yard. We do need a change of scenery too, maybe a change of bed could help too.

Deborah, I hope that your kiln problems are solved now. Time will tell. We are going to be allowed to travel to regional Qld from today I think. So we are getting away for a few days from Tuesday. Going over Stanthorpe way to put a doorway into an old water tank.
Cheers

"tanks" here --your post shows:--"I stayed in my shed for 5 hours today, totally supervising it as it went through several phases" this must beat watching the wheelie bin truck.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.
