Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dot, you are right. It is damn cold 10degrees here. That aint right mate, somebody should fix that thermometre. Yes it is cold. Hope the bed is warmer xxxx

His lordship suggested a couple of days away from my shed to clear my brain. I think he is right somehow. Today I spent my time researching firing different glass. I seem to have quite an accumulation of various beer and wine bottles and glasses as well as a beautiful smashed crystal vase that someone donated to my cause a long time ago. I didn't gain much useful knowledge today, but there is always tomorrow for further research. The temperature for annealing is the most important one. If I get that wrong, the glass could come out of the kiln looking good and it could explode or slowly crack into a million tiny pieces, so it has to be done right.

Methinks it is time for that warm bed too,
nighty night xxx

Dot, you too cold to get on here too? xxxx

Today's research was almost as confusing as mud. All the "experts" have their own "proven" schedules for firing bottles and the four that I copied out, were all very different from each other. So I guess it will be just a bit of pot luck with putting wine or beer bottles in the kiln. Surely one of these schedules will give me the right comb, but which one?
I finally found out how we escape this lockdown

Watched a bit of the para games esp the ping pong and the guy that had no arms, he held the bat in his mouth to play  A bit down after my footy team bombed out of the finals but no worries they are a young bunch and will do better next year. Heading for a nice hot shower now so goodnight everyone x goodnight Tanks x :D Goodnight Mr Major x :D

Dot, agreed, the world is a scary place. People are now looking at each other as if they have covid and treating others like lepers. Stay warm and sleep well xxxx

Took the wine bottle down to the kiln and it's now frying away on a very long schedule. Don't know what I will find in the morning.

Just to show you there are some good times in my lair. These are a couple of sunset pics taken a few minutes apart. I did have to leave my shed to take these.

Deborah, we certainly are lucky to witness so many awesome sunsets & sunrises, magical location to call home especially when you reside on the lake edge.
Be interesting what you find in the kiln today? :D

Beautiful pics Deborah, When you cook down a wine bottle do you break it up before cooking or put it in whole? Watched the voice tonight some great singers amongst them hard to pick the winner but bloody hell why does that Sonia wear those mini dresses, yes she has nice legs but looks silly. And to top it off the judge Rita Ora's outfit is just so yuck. My M8 in NZ is looking at getting a reverse mortgage :o Does any have any knowledge of these? opinions please. Cold again tonight bbrrrr hurry up Summer. Think I may have a hot bath now so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight WayneP x :D

Dottie,
If your friend wants to end up with a debt larger than the value of the house, a reverse mortgage is the way to do it.

Dot, listen to Ray. Reverse mortgages are really a trap and can have the person being thrown out of their home without any footholds at all. Yes, they do advertise these things to be safe, but since when would anyone fully trust a bank? They are not in it to be helpful to the customer, just to keep the shareholders happy. All goes well, until there is a price drop in the property market and the house becomes worth much less than the loan and the huge amounts of interest, that has been accruing every month since the loan was approved. Happy bathtime mate xxxx

Shirley, we can't complain about the scenery. That is almost a bonus for staying home.

Dot, the wine bottle went into the kiln whole. It flattened out nicely and tonight it is warming up with a couple of bits of square chalk under the neck, with the aim of making a sort of handle. If that works, then it will be a cheese platter. If not, it will be back to square one.

sweet dreams xxx
