Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Another warm day and same again tomorrow :D Something has been nibbling lemons that had fallen down, what would eat lemons ? rat, possum ?? Passed your comments re Reverse Mortgage to my mate, she said that she is just using it for a short time until she sells the 2 acres up the back of her place needing the $ for the lawyers. The 2 acres is on the market for $2.5 mill and she still has the house and 12 acres so hopefully she has done her homework, I have been trying to find other ways for her but seems she has her mind set so hopefully it pans out for her. Heard from HTFFBO today, they are on their way down here. The egg laying has stopped for now. :D Blossom is starting on the fruit trees so spring is here. Time for bed so goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight NC George x :D

Dot, you suggested the right culprits. Possums and rats will eat lemons. They are annoying because they just destroy the skin in a patch on one lemon and then return the next night and do the same to another lemon. It wouldn't be so bad, if they stuck to destroying only the one lemon. Happy to read the egg laying has stopped. xxxx

George, what can I say?

Today I was very happy with the resulting cheese board from a wine bottle experiment. A neighbour was wandering in her yard, so I offered it to her and she was tickled pink to receive it. She is going to test run it for me. I have another bottle in the kiln tonight to try to do it all over again for another neighbour. I am really pleased with the result and think I would like to make some more for our jayco mob, but I only had a stash of 3 empty wine bottles and we don't drink a lot of wine anymore. I will ask around the neighbourhood for some donations, but I reckon they will expect a cheese board in return. :o

I actually escaped today. I needed some legal drugs and to get my phone repaired. Chemist doesn't let anyone enter the shop. You have to line up outside in the walkway and hand over scripts. Felt really strange, but they had my drugs, that was enough. The phone repair was good too. I had put one of those glass protector screens on it ages ago. I was sure that the screen was cracked, but turns out that the screen protector did the job. The protector had a massive crack in it and the screen was still perfect. New protector was fitted and I left with it fixed in a few minutes.

Dot have you caught the nasty possum/rats yet? I have heard that a good slathering of vicks on the fences around the tree will keep them out. I don't mind them having a midnight snack on a few of them, we have a glut anyway. Enjoy the possum hunt xxxx

Just another day in lock down paradise. Did some mosaic work with a lot of tiny pieces of dichroic glass, which will get fired tomorrow...maybe. I have the second of the wine bottle cheese boards, going through a warming tonight to give it a nice handle. Hoping that the delayed start is working properly and it fires up and gets on with it, at about now. I am trying to get it to start later in the day when the electrickery is cheaper (sort of)

No real excitement here at all, even the streets are so quiet, just a very eerie feeling around here.

I reckon I need to put a dash cam aimed at the box we put up for a possum to see what it is that is eating the bits we put on the tray, I will feed the possum but when it comes to rats then it gets a trap with a one way trip... Power company came to connect next doors power and asked if they could use our driveway, At least he asked so I gave him the key to the gate. Still giving away lemons to anyone that wants some I asked if he wanted some and he replied "not really but I will take some if I can look through your bus" He got a huge bag of the yellow fruit to take home. Deborah, show us your melted bottles please :D Looks like we are heading for some really crap weather in a day or so. I was looking through some old papers and it dawned on me it is 34 yrs since my dad fell off his perch, time flys by so fast I still remember him putting me on a slightly broken in horse and saying "hang on girl" as the horse took off at full gallop, when I finally got back to my dad he said to me "excellent balance young lady" That is how I learned how to ride without the posh bells and whistles the other kids did. Memories hey! Off to Mt Barker tomorrow as Gman is having the wider excision of the biopsy site from last week done, I haven't told him how painful it will be. OK time for fang cleaning and off to bed so Goodnight everyone x :D and goodnight Pet-els x :D PS Deborah what ever it is it doesn't nibble the lemons on the tree, it goes for the ones that drop off.

Dot, it might be a bandicoot or hare, having a test bite. Put some pieces of apple on a tray near there and see if there are any droppings the next day. Probably better to wait til after the crap weather coming up for the east half of Oz.

Have seen no poop around anywhere, we have been putting apples, carrots, crusts and that is always gone from the tray which is about 6ft up near the box we put up. I put the lemons on top of the fence where next doors cats hop over thinking that would deter them but that's when I noticed how much of the lemons were eaten ?? Mr G was a brave boy having his cut ans sew, the Dr will text with results. What a beautiful day it has been 31 deg but then along comes a dam fire along with the strong hot wind. Taste of whats to come. Heading to bed now so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Peter & Sandra x :D

Eating only the fallen fruit , it sounds like a rodent to me, but that could be a bandicoot for al I know. Possums mainly head straight to the tree, so they are probably not the culprits. Happy feral animal hunting Dot. xxxx Give the Gman my hugs please.

Don't know how exciting a flattened wine bottle can be, but here's your crappy pic.

Neighbour who received this today was very excited to be given it. To me it's just a cheap way of recycling stuff and making it useful again.

Our weather was a bit common today. Cool and breezy and not the greatest, but we seem to be heading for some more severe weather patterns, oh goody, entertainment on the lake.

Dot, if it is up off the ground, then it isn't a bandicoot.
Deborah, that looks great, it is much flatter than I expected.

Deborah I reckon that bottle looks great Try a red bottle (Xmas) David no bandicoots around here, but we saw a rat some years ago, I said to Gman it was funny there has not been any bullets (poop) found at all around the place. Will have to get a cage trap to find out for sure. How are those Kiwi cops, no mucking around with that terrorist 1 boom and he's gone  My Claytons daughter said she was on the scene and it was scary to say the least. Rather tired tonight so Goodnight everyone x Goodnight Deborah x :D

Dot, I love the idea, do you know where I can find red bottles? They need to be white wine bottles because the shape of the neck lets most of the air escape as it collapses. Keep up the rodent hunt xxxx

David, I have seen these done before, so I knew that if I was to make them slightly different to others, I had to make them really flat, so fired them really extra hot and for longer than most. I also put in some fibre board under the bottles to keep them from rolling around and that gives them a nice little extra flat spot when I take the fibre board out. The bottle flattens over the top of the fibre board and the indentations look just right for olives or gherkins etc.

Today was spent fiddling with the mosaic plate, it is now getting bent into a platter shape.

The rest of my day was spent being a counsellor to our tenant, who has just quit a well paid job. She assures me that her rent is paid in advance and she is already sending off resumes. Just don't think that her timing is so smart. We are meant to be in lockdown, but she is prepared to go into strange workplaces and do interviews. I will be keeping a long distance between her and our fence now.

Tomorrow is looking like the end of our lovely sunny weather for a while, hope the weatherperson got that wrong.
