Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dot, I stopped watching the shows where the tv reporters apparently are able to find out things the coppers haven't already found. It just seems to be treating the public as morons. The police have done their best in trying situations and no reporter is going to discover any more than what has already been known. Hope yo get your energy back soon mate xxxx

Was sure that in the winds last night, a tree branch had landed on our roof. It crashed around for quite a while. We could find no sign of any tree today, so it must have gone the same way it came. I was totally awake when I heard it, so wasn't dreaming. The winds and rain today have been enough for us to go back to living in our cocoon, beside the big gas heater and doing very little all day.

Hope you lot can stay out of the winds, if you get any of them, that is.

sweet dreams xxx
Deborah

Dot, what text messages are not right? I regularly get texts from the local po to come collect parcels, because she can't be bothered delivering them.
Hope your gardening adventures are not too tiring xxxx

Last night the kiln decided to shut down again. His nibs went down to turn it off this morning and found everything all cold. He tried to restart it and it flashed on for only a second. When I showed him how tiny amount of movement is enough to rattle the plugs, he was amazed. I tightened the power prong things again, shoved the plug back in and off she went. PITA
I left it cooking during the afternoon, so I could supervise it going through to top heat, and all seems back to right again. So it will continue firing over night. It's a 16 hour cycle, so tomorrow, it will be the right temp to take it out at lunchtime.

Thankfully the wind settled down and we had no real effects from said earthquake, so weather wise, it was a nicer day.

night all xxx

Deborah, maybe the power-point needs replacing.

I reckon that would be the best idea. Or maybe get a 32A plug and power outlet installed.

Deborah the text messages of which I speak are scams trying to get you to open the link they give you. Today I took the bus to have the alternator checked and as expected it is stuffed , so one is ordered and shall be fitted next week, 2 new batteries and alternator hmmmm. I don't want to know what the batteries cost but the alternator is $500 and a few dollars plus $150 to put it back in. So with that I am determined to make use and do more trips. G has ordered the new bird mesh so thats another job to be done. Tonight G was putting the possum food out when he actually saw it scurrying away along the fence so happy it is not a rat. More dental and medical checks coming up once again in the next few weeks. Oh goodie. Hope you had luck with your kiln this time Deborah. Time to say goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight BernieQ x :D

Dot, buses are as expensive as houses. I guess your bus is not new, new, so it is prone to suffer from age related problems. You have my sympathy. I hate seeing money constantly going out to repairs. When the bus get a heart problem, then you will be in trouble ;) :o I haven't had any of those text messages, yet. But I did get one today that was from a person who I didn't recognise, so hung up on him. His follow up text message was so rude that even a wharfie would have blushed. xxxx

Jon, George and David, thanks for your ideas. Annoyingly, the power plug that is dropping out is on the actual kiln. The kiln has a three pronged point where the lead to the power point on the wall comes from. If I had it wired directly to the wall, then I couldn't use the other kiln, as this is the only 15 amp power point in the shed. I do need to move the kilns occasionally to get them serviced. The issue is at the moment, I aint going anywhere near the kiln man, as he is out of our local gov area. Otherwise, I would be tempted to take the darn thing back and demand a refund. The kiln gets so hot, it seems that the heat around the plug is causing some of the issues, but that would have to be a fault in all kilns that are built that way. I will do some research to find the kiln builders and ring them for ideas.

Had a successful firing last night and tonight's is looking promising as well.
I cooked up a birthday treat for his nibs tonight. He had mussels with garlic, lime and sweet chilly sauce and a side of fried rice. delicious.

Deborah, when you find the kiln makers details ask them what the full load current rating is. There are industrial type plugs that have an outer screwed cover that still allow you to remove the plug, but won't fall out.
Sounds like you cooked up a lovely birthday dish too.
Cheers
