Best to get it sorted out.
Bad plugs cause fires because they get hot. And, aren't you firing when you got to bed?

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Cheeky Dot
xxxx
Jon and David, that's good advice. Yes I do try to fire at night when the power is cheaper. The only things I can find about ward kilns, are all attributed to my kiln man, who apparently is not working during the current lockdown, so is not contactable. The plug is the one that he supplied with the kiln, but I am still going to follow it up as soon as I can get a hold of him. Thanks for your thoughts.
This is why I need my shed
Just another day in lockdown. Sanded off some rough edges on a plate, rewired a couple of suncatchers, shoved a wine bottle into get fired up, not a lot happening here.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Deborah have you thought about getting an electrician in to check out the power supply to the kiln?

Good sports today, great AFL result but the best was the ALL blacks won again so I am pleased
Attempted to eat a scone but as expected, no taste and what I did manage to get into the "arm cave" just stuck in my throat. = another failure
Very cold tonight so electric blanket is on waiting for my chilly pussy to grace it's presence.
Hope your kiln is working ok now Deborah. Nice to hear Mr Major is doing well, Take care Tanks. Goodnight everyone x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, enjoy the thugby while you still can watch it xxxx
Shirley, are you listening across the lake or what?
His Nibs and I had the same discussion today about getting our friendly sparky to come and do some investigations. It's easier to have him visit, than hauling the kiln back to Warners Bay and somehow, I have lost confidence in Mr kilnman's work. I will also be asking about the industrial plugs that David has mentioned.
Kiln is still working ok at the moment, just being in need of more constant supervision, which may not be such a bad thing.
Most of the day was spent upstairs, waiting for a delivery from a bakery in Mayfield (about an hour away). They are the first bakery that I have found that is prepared to deliver here, and as I don't want either of us to head to shops, this was a good thing. They didn't give a delivery time, so that was a bit of a bummer, but what they delivered was really good stuff. Unsliced bread (YES), sausage rolls that are full of meat, a chicken and veg pie and a few birthday surprises for you know who. He was happy and the freezer has now got some sauso rolls for another time and a couple of loaves of bread. We do have a bakery in town, but they don't bake anything on the premises, their bread is often burnt and always super thinly sliced.
Happy weekend

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Today was a nice warm day so I did some weed killing, saw the man checking on the new house progress so we had a chat about the non progress of the house when he told me that someone had cut some of the new wiring last week and bugger me they came back for another go a few days later. What rat bags. The company they are using have a bit of a reputation for "sloppy" workmanship so with the place not even locked up what is their thinking? I was surprised that the brass pipe fittings were still there.( for now.) George took the old bird netting down and made a new frame and we will pick up the new super dooper netting next week. Heaps of flowers on the trees once again this year. Time to say goodnight everyone x
