Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Bit of a quiet day, G went to the bone man today about his dickey knee, MRI to book. I stayed home as I was so tired  I rang the oncologist to let him know I was sooooo tired and asked him if I could cut my new "happy pills down" yep try half so will see how I pull up tomorrow. One of the baby birds didn't make it, I found one of them under a tree next door. Wondered where the hell I was today, dam bolleywood ban chi music ? singing, it was the tiler next door with his radio blasting that noise out so I returned the favor with my Andre Bocelli   I was going to boast about the V8's champion Gizzy romped it in :D but my all blacks got trampled :( .G was a clever boy, he got his covid jab proof off the comp, now he gets to get mine. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Bobr x :D Borders to SA are now open, bring your bugs from here there and everywhere.

Dot, would love to come to SA, for us, the travel through Victoria would be too risky. I think it may be quite a while before we feel safe to do any border hopping. Did you see QLd is demanding a proof of covid free status and it will cost each person $150 to get the test done? Maybe we will need a bit more patience before we can easily visit Qld. Hope you wake up less tired tomoz xxxx

Boy it really rained heavily last night. I didn't sleep well. The heavy rain was close to terrifying, as we were parked near to what started out as a creek. By dinner time, it was a river, and by breakfast time, it was a very fast flowing river. It wasn't much higher than last night, just flowing much stronger. It was a very wet pack up and departure, but then luckily the road home was a little less rainy. We arrived home and had the van emptied by lunchtime. Then we did the drive down the narrow, steep drive, change cars and do the three point turn to get the van onto it's side fence site. We managed to do this fancy dancing in only two goes today, so that was very positive. Close to a record even. Our rain gauge says that we have had 2 1/2 inches here since Thursday, so it's been a good weekend to escape. It would have been better with sunshine, but we still had enough good entertainment to help us to feel a bit more human.

Yummo boysenberry jam, Dot, your orchard leaves me envious at times. I know how hard it is to keep fruit trees in healthy conditions, so well done you. Hope the specialist is used to patients trying to wake up to chat to him. xxxx

Today was not one of my best. The rain gods have decided to dump oceans onto our place, so we declared it to be an inside day. I tried to make next year's calendar with snapfish. They sent me a code to get a cheapie , because last year I used them, for the first time. Their program is a bit painful and I spent most of the day sorting out photos, and working out which photos for which month, allocating birthdays, holidays and special events and generally made a lovely calendar. I tried to save it and send it to their printers and that's when the sh** hit the fan. They totally lost all of the day's work. I tried a few things that may work, but no, it is all gone to the ether. I will go back to my old faithful printer vistaprint tomorrow and see how difficult they have made their calendars. Last year they were horrible and that's why I went over to snapfish, so I will have to find out how vistaprint has improved or other wise.

Other than that, it's been a pretty slow, wet day here.

Today Mr G managed to wake me up and get me out of my slumber by noon. Next door's shed has been started man on a machine doing the base leveling and starting to put the shed bits and pieces to their proposed places. One man doing the job as unable to get any workers to help ??? I thought we had plenty of unemployed . ??? Spoke to my M8 in NZ this arvo, she said 200 new covid cases for today and now it has spread to the Sth Island, where it had not been. They are still in lockdown until 15th Bec. Good ol Vic sent 2 positive cases but the child has returned to Vic. Rosy's mum rang tonight and said she has been trying for the past 18 hrs to get her permit ok to be able to get back here tomorrow. Not much fruit this year I'm afraid Deborah, the Cherry and Pear slug has done a good job of seeing to that. Watching the Burke St tragedy scary crap. I'm off to bed e buys so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Toolman x :D
Thanks for the heads up on the scam thingy I asked about.

Had a call today from “Microsoft Tech Support”.
Chap with an Indian accent explained that there was a problem with my computer. Windows was sending hundreds of error messages to the internet.
Offered to correct the problem if I hit a sequence of keys to enable him to fix it, otherwise my internet access would be blocked.
I asked what part of the system was causing the problem, and was there a way I could fix it myself. Kept him talking for 20 minutes before asking which keys to use on a Mac.
Suddenly the call dropped out. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Still don’t know how to fix the problem… 😁🤣😁🤣

Glad that you were able to be woken today Dot. You got some nasty grubby things there and we have the dreaded fruit fly. They are all as bad as each other, methinks. Enjoy the few bits of fruit that you can collect. xxxx

Good one Ray

Today looked like it would rain more, so decided to take on the calendar challenge again. It only took 8 hours with vistaprint and to be realistic, it was one heck of a job. There is no way to actually see the whole page of any month, only little slices of a day and it was painfully slow. In their favour, it kept reminding me to save the work after every page was turned, so that was positive. After I had sent the money etc, they made the mistake of asking how I felt about the process. I didn't hold back. It will be interesting if they bother to read it and respond.

It has rained enough tonight, to make up for the sunshine that we had for a few hours. It sure is looking like we will have a wet summer. gggrrrr.

Deb,
We recorded 52mm in the 24hrs to 10:00 today/yesterday/Wednesday. 😳

BoM announced yesterday that we are officially in a La Niña cycle… cooler, wetter summer ahead.

At least we now have grass growing uphill from our carport. No more mudslides when we get heavy rain. 🤞

Wake up Dot, it's time to go to bed xxxx

Yes, Ray, it looks like we are going to have even more rain than we really want again this year. We got a half an inch of heavy rain in an hour tonight, but the almost sunshine for much of the day was just so humid. Not a great feeling, just so hot and uncomfortable. Feels like we're living in the tropics.

Had a weird day today. We arose very early due to expecting a new marine mechanic. It looked like it could pour down at any moment, so the caravan was moved out of the way and the gazebo was erected above the boat motor. It turns out that Mr Shonky , last years "mechanic", really was not very reputable. He had installed several parts that were not right for our engine and replaced the very expensive fuel pump with what looks like a very old and used pump. We did pay for a new pump last year, lesson learnt. Today the mech was very good. I felt more happy dealing with him, that's for sure. He showed me any parts that needed replacing and showed me the new parts in their boxes before using them. The fuel pump has to be ordered in, so that may take a while. In the meantime, he has taken the fuel filter home to give it a deep clean (how did it get covid? ;) ) He asked for no money up front and was really patient in explaining to his nibs, what was needed doing. So that was a better experience with marine guys.

I spent the afternoon in my shed, building up another platter. Seeing as I sold 5 last weekend, it appears they are a seller YAY. That's one for the first firing soon.
