Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

I played bowls Tuesday, Thursday this week, with the current Covid situation, the club doesn't open until midday, we are asked to arrive 9.15, no morning tea, pay, out on the green 9.30, at least we are able to play :D I along with several other members don't stay for lunch, don't want to be sitting around unmasked inside eating, there has been positive cases at the club. :?

Dot, that sorting sounds like a mammoth task. Good onya mate xxxx

Shirley, you are doing things the wise way I reckon. This isn't a time for testing your immunity or the viability of the vaccines, so keep on doing things that you feel comfortable with.

Last night's firing was good. The plate looks pretty good, so happy with that. Tonight the kiln is bending the necks on a couple of wine bottle/cheese platters. A mate has been showing them off to lots of people and wants a few more made for him to give as gifts. Happy to help him out.

Our phones have been busy with tsunami warnings and telling us to stay away from the waters edge. The tsunami hit Tonga earlier today, but so far, the warning beacons on Lord Howe Island have shown no signs of abnormal waves. I will be very surprised if we see any real problems here, but stay off your canoes peoples.

I reckon everyone from Coffs Harbour all the way up to Dalby will be awake now. There is a massive electrical storm system blowing through, followed by an intense rain band. And the tsunami warning has just been renewed, so it might be an interesting couple of hours.

At last I am feeling better re the Tennis player crap, he's gone. He can certainly play a mean game of Tennis but when you strip away the $$ there is no difference apart from a few dangly bits  .Had a visit from Phyl and Ann (Mottleemob) today scones were provided. Was nice to have some laughs for a change. Apparently the concrete truck may be arriving tomorrow morning (early) for next doors shed. G got heaps of crap out of the house garage and pretty soon the little Suzuki may even be able to sleep there. At last the sunroom is just about ready for new paint job and new window treatments.. any suggestions re colours? had the same "off white" paint since built . Want to do the whole house but 1 room at a time for us old farts. Also want to get rid of the curtains, they are too expensive to dry clean, was tossing up between those day / night blinds and ? (I can not sew) Time for bed so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Petels x :D

Dot, the day/night blinds are great. The house is cooler with just the day ones down and we can see the view through them and as long as we don't have any strong lights on, nobody can see inside. The night ones are obviously thicker and darken the house and give us privacy. No way would I go back to just curtains again. I do have some curtains still for letting the breeze come through at times, but the blinds are really good. Stay sane mate xxxx

The wine bottle /cheese boards came out just fine. That was a big relief, as I had changed the firing schedule after the last ones exploding in the kiln. Might have found a better schedule. Tonight the kiln is warming up a plate, hopefully , it should be photographable.

The tsunami alert was cancelled at 9pm tonight. Apart form some crazy wind squalls, we had no ill effects from it at all. The local sailing club has a national titles event going all weekend and Monday and Tuesday. It's for teenagers in tiny boats, so they had to cancel today, just as a precaution, but the weird winds would have sent the kids flying off in weird directions, so it was a good move.

Today was a rest day, seems my old friend RSD or now CRPS may have flared up but never mind crap happens :D No one would believe the amount of stuff that comes out of the woodwork when you start looking. The next doors shed floor is now concreted. :D Suppose the fence will be next. :D Thanks for the blind info Deborah, I shall have a look at spotlight on Wednesday (are they any good?) Hoping tomorrow is a nice day, really do have to get more mulch down before the heat arrives again.. I noticed the start of a hairline crack in one of the floor tiles, I heard that you rub in candle wax? is that right? Take care everyone on and off the roads. Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Shirley x :D

Can't help with spotlight Dot. We had a local company make ours all up to measure. A couple of the windows in bedrooms, still needed edge curtains to give them complete blackout, because the blinds don't quite cover all the window. But hey, they work. Hope you have had enough rest today. xxxx

We had the phone call that we have been expecting. Our daughter is crook as Rookwood with covid. She is living in her basement bedroom in a small terrace house, so now we are very worried for her 7 year old and hubby. They are sitting ducks. Looks like we won't be having a catch up for Christmas yet. This is the second school holidays that daughter has had to be isolated, she is not impressed at all. She doesn't get sick leave when on school holidays.

As promised, today's work of art.
The kiln posts are forming the shape, followed by fancy kiln matting that makes the shape even smoother before the flat glass is put on top to form the platter.

Deborah, unless your daughter has an underlying medical condition she will be ok. So long as she is vaccinated. Her hubby will probably get it eventually.
Some of our neighbours (hospitality workers) caught it when they opened up the border and were in quarantine when we got back home the other week.
I had been feeling pretty ordinary from about Friday last week, but I thought it was from having the booster shot on Wednesday. But nup. Tested positive today when finally able to get a R A Test. At least I now know why have been feeling like crap now. It's OK til I start coughing.
That plate looks good, as usual. Saw a video today of a bloke cutting glass bottles with a bandsaw, that looked interesting.
Cheers
