Agree that tv is utter crap Dot. Don't really want to watch olympics, that snow stuff has no relevance to us, so there is very little else to watch. Glad your onc is happy with you xxxx
David, thanks for the thought. I am still amazed at how many of our locals have given me empty whiskey bottles. Maybe it was from Christmas parties, but gee some of these people must be real soaks. I would not have known, except for all these empty bottles.
Last night's piece in kiln came out with some extra bits that look bad. I am assuming they are crud, falling from the roof of the kiln. I wiped over the kiln roof, couldn't find any loose bits, not impressed by that. Then I spent some time with my old dental tools and dug out the crud, filled it with sparkly bits and returned it for another warm up. I want perfection without crud.
As we have enjoyed some nice rain today, it has been pleasant to spend time in my shed. I have started on a project for a friend who buys a lot of my stuff. She likes her earrings to be much bigger than most, so her orders are special requests. So far, there are about a dozen pairs ready for firing. What she doesn't buy, will go out for sale on my stall somewhere. Tonight's plate has priority, because I want to see how it will look as a plate.

Hope you're not sleeping in the chair again Dot? xxxx
Shirley, you don't sound like you're having a great run with hospital for hubby. Thinking of you mate.
I did a bit of kiln stuff today and found a chunk on the side wall is loose and that's where the bits that were in the plate had come from. Don't think it's serious, just something to keep an eye on. I cleaned up some shelves and repainted them with fancy protective layers. That is one horrible job, but it has to be done. In the kiln tonight, is the plate being shaped to be a nicer plate.
Stay safe out there,
night all xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
I have been on the ph with my M8 in NZ since 9pm until 1.45am and she has worn my voice out. Did absolutely nothing again today, saving my energy for later on when we start to put everything back into the bedroom and study. Going to head to the block ? Monday for a weed check. Guy that was supposed to come and pick up the old freezer hasn't turned up nore replied to messages, even if he turned up tomorrow I'd tell him where to go. No wonder this country is fornicated with his lack of commitment to work. Time to get to bed so goodnight everyone x

Dot, it seems so common for people to commit to buy and then just not turn up. We have had that a couple of times, so frustrating. Enjoy the weeds mate xxxx
I finally sat down and prepared the tax stuff for the taxman, so I will make an appointment to get the forms rolling.
The kiln was a disappointment. The plate has a dirty big crack in it, about half an inch wide in places. I was really confused about how that could happen, until I took the plate off the mold. Between glass and ceramic mold, is a piece of firing paper, to prevent the glass sticking to mold. The mould is sort of bowl shaped and as the paper sank into the shape, it has cracked and weirdly, the glass has followed that crack. Better to be cracked than to have stuck totally to the mold. It's back in the kiln being re-flattened with even more colourful bits thrown on to disguise the deep cracks. Tomorrow, it will get put back in the mold, but with thicker, more bendable separator.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Deborah it wasn't a fridge it was an old freezer for the scrap metal man. Today I got a message saying " I am in Milang this week" I replied "Who are you?" G will take it to the scrap metal depot himself. Back in the bedroom tonight, all clean again. Flicked on the Olympics what is the go with that Curling game about? nearly as exciting as ping pong. Looking forward to seeing those Bottle plates Deborah.they have been quite naughty. Poor WA having those bush fires, suppose we shall get our share soon, hope those firebugs are being kept under surveillance so keep safe everyone. Goodnight one and all x

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Dot, if you can smell the veggies n gravy, you can't have covid! Just a strange thought. I reckon curling looks suspiciously like housework on ice and why does the ice need to be cleaned?

The plate is still giving me grief. It had developed even more weird cracks, so lots more stuff thrown at it and getting warmed up again tonight. I won't jinx it by saying for the last time.....
I spent a lot of time on the phone today, just doing appointment stuff and organising things for the Rockhampton gem festival in August. It seems a bit weird booking things that may or may not happen. We decided to go ahead and book things and hope for a more "normal" year, but anything could happen between now and August. Fingers are crossed to get back to some kind of normal.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
What a day for some of us here, new motorhome, engine out, some playing games, jabbies for tea, and now we have a sign of maybe rain so I would say a pretty good day. Me I did nothing, heading to the block tomorrow before it gets hot again. Goodnight everyone x
