Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Dot, now what you gonna sit on mate?  Reckon the weeds can wait another day xxxx

We had a humungous storm pass through last night, so no computer. Storm was very loud and on top of us for quite a while. Pretty to watch the lightning on the lake, but no damage done just a bit of sleep lost.
Today was beautiful and we have been enjoying the company.

I put out some jewellery and plates out in the annex and had a few sales. Even had a couple of people who are not from our club come to buy jewellery. Have almost covered the cost of the weekend, so will put out a stall again tomorrow. Nothing to lose.

It's just great to be able to catch up with so many mates, We are all outdoors and sitting in spread out areas, so feel quite safe.

good night one and all xxx

went to the block today, took the suzuki and trailer as G had to trim some branches and scoop up the dead weeds and I sprayed the budding weeds. Left the trailer in the shed till next time. On the way home G had his window down a bit and it wouldn't go up by his control or mine (drivers controls) so we had to stop on the side of the road and press this and that along with the car buttons  until we finally found the right "unlock" combination too many gadgets in todays cars. Stopped in at a friends place she was our neighbor at Ashbourne, her then husb spilled the beans to a friend that he had another "family" that no one knew about  , he got the panics and confessed to Lyn about it as he thought the friend he told would tell his wife. (which she would) anyway that marriage ended that night, his other family also told him to "go away" ;) anyway he died last year  his cancer came back to get him , then she told us 2 other people we knew had also died recently. OMG everyone is snuffing off. Got home 6 pm and I am knackered so it's goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Bobk x

Dot, you just said what I keep saying, getting a newer car is great, but all the twiddly bits are impossible to remember what does what. Glad you finally got back to the block xxxx

Had a good day today. Sold some more plates and jewellery, had lots of happy hours and then won a bottle of plank in the raffle.

nighty night xxx

Dot, I'm early tonight, so won't tease you for being tardy xxxx

Our raffle prize was a bottle of booze not plank, don't know where that typo came from.

We had a slow start to the day, followed by lunch at the pub. This particular pub had been a bikie retreat when I was a little bit younger. Parents had banned us from ever setting foot in there. So today was a taboo happily broken. The place has undergone a lovely renovation and the food was delicious. I had the most tender piece of barramundi that I have ever eaten. Later, we all sat beside the lake and spent the rest of the day catching up with old mates. A good time was had by all.

Travelling home tomorrow, so it's back to the salt mines for me.

night all xxx

Deja vu, Dottie!

For the past 20-odd years we’ve owned cars with a lane-change function on the indicators.
You know, if you push/lift until you feel resistance the indicator flashes without locking on.
Initially you had to hold the stalk until completion of the move. Now you just have to move to the resistance point and release, as they are programmed to blink 3~4 times then cancel.
For all of those 20-odd years I have been trying to explain it to SWMBO without success.
It’s been a major achievement getting her to use the cruise control!
I’m not even contemplating getting her to use the traction control or headlight load compensator!! … and fog lights?? What fog lights?? 🤭😳

Ray

Ray I hate the lane control thingy so it gets turned off as soon as I start the motor. As for the cruise control I think it is good for highway use but I don't like the fact that when going down a hill it doesn't stick to the speed you set and even goes faster. Tonight next door came over and said they would accept our $$$ offer for the fence, buggered if I was going to pay for half seeing their contractor cut our fence. Off to Mt B tomorrow hair cuts again  that 6 weeks went fast. I did a bit of wood working today, I have a coffee table I want to refurbish, so rub down and filled the screw holes, get paint tomorrow. Deborah have a look at this woman's work globalretro...... Lisa Edmonds. A friend of mine has one of the black cat lamps, I'm not really impressed by the prices either $400 plus. She makes the shades with fiberglass . Thank goodness the winter games are finished. Ice hockey and curling and that half round tunnel thing    . Now the country is open to who ever from where ever, lets all put our heads between our legs and kiss our arses goodbye . See WA has got a couple of hundred cases now. Off to bed e buys now, goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight RossP x :D

Dottie,
Lane-change indicators are different from lane-keeping controls.
The first operate only the indicator lights.
The second introduces resistance in the steering when you get too close to the lane lines. (Unless the indicator is on.)
Our Suzuki has the former but fortunately not the latter.
If it had the lane-keeping function I would definitely disable it! On country roads it makes no sense.
Besides, I often ignore the edge-of-road lines on corners & use the bitumen outside the lines. Lane-keeping would be a major PITA for me.
… and it would be REALLY useful on dirt roads! 🙄

ps. Suzi’s cruise control is ‘flexible’ on hills too. Girt’s will retard the engine on downhills to keep us on the setting. Likewise our 2001 Honda Civic.
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Dot, I did a squizzy at the global retro lady, what a pile of garbage! If it's fibre glass, why does it look like very cheap plastic or resin? If she gets those ridiculous prices for her crap, she is very lucky or clever to be able to find so many people with very poor taste and lots of money. Send some of those rich peoples to me huh? Your fence deal sounds good. Hope it works out for you. xxxx

We did the long, 15 minute drive home and unpacked the van fridge and all our clothes. By then the summer heat was getting heavy. We stopped for lunch and then took the van down the drive and through to it's space out the back. By then, we were stuffed. So today has been just a very slow day.

goodnight all xxx
