Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Back to the warm bed fo me.
Sensible girl! 😀

Unfortunately I have a half-finished project in my PlayPen that SWMBO would like me to finish asap.
I’m rugged up like an Eskimo atm, ready to venture into the arctic weather…
Regards & God bless,

It has been blowing a gale, pelting rain and cold as ?hell?? today. Nothing done outside apart from bringing wood inside. Power flickered a while ago but nothing went off apart from the TV's ?? I went to bed and read the wanderer snuggled up with my faithful pussy. Had a call from HTFFBO this arvo, said she was going to bed to keep warm. Thought I might make some sausage rolls for the freezer tomorrow, always good to have on hand. Got to put the ointment into Brians ears then off back to bed where the snoring G man is. Goodnight everyone x Goodnight Tanks hope you had a carefree birthday with Mr Major xx :D :D

Cold as hell? I thought hell would never freeze over Dot. Yes it's still super cold here too, if it helps you to feel like you are sharing this horrible weather, it's 6 degrees here right now and with the wind chill factor, it feels like minus six. xxxx

We drove around the lake to have our fourth covid injections (moderna) and really felt nothing this time and have had no real reactions at all. We then braved the little/bigger grocery shop and did a good re-stock of a few important things. That was enough for my frozen hips. So no real time in the shed at all, the stairs are just one step too many in this cold.

Yesterday, I had made a start on using up some of the tiny pieces that are left over from the bracelets. I had a couple of requests for some different magnetic earrings, so that was the plan. I used my usual industrial strength glue, glued a ton of tiny pieces to very strong, but tiny magnets. I had set them all out on a steel board, to keep them in the same place over night. I didn't realise just how strong these magnets are. About a third of them have managed to used their pull to get closer to other magnets and sort of left the glass bits just hanging on. Not very pretty. I spent a few hours today, just trying to pull the glued on magnets off and cleaning them up, ready to start all over again tomorrow. Never a dull moment in this lair.

nighty night xxx

Speaking of hips, did you see the tiny cut Phil had for his hip replacement? He was home in 2 days and is doing well. Just sayin!!. Watched the Queens Platinum concert again, was a great show esp Rod Stewart, Andrea Bocelli :) Another rotten day, cold cold and cold and again nothing done out side. Another mass shooting in the states, they will never learn will they? We had rain like flat out and the rivers and streams are running as well as swollen with lots of trees down. Catching up to Qld rain. . Is it worth heading North this year with all the roads washed out and heaps more rain happening all over the place? Keep that Kiln slogging away Deborah, is is warm in the girl shed when kiln is going? Did you go to bowls Shirley? Can't get warm so heading for a hot shower then into a warm bed with my purring pussy so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight RossP x :D

Dot, I am seeing a bonelady soon, to discuss any options that may or may not be appropriate. I personally think it's too soon for replacements. xxxx

I finally forced myself to venture down to my shed to find what had happened in my kiln. The shed is always freezing Dot, because I run the kiln overnight, when power is theoretically cheaper and by the time I get back down to the shed the kiln has cooled down enough for me to get on with whatever is the next step. My shed is the closest building that we have to the lake. So with wind chill factor, it's just cold.

This is what came out of the kiln. I lopped off about a third of it and put it back with lots more colour.

It was still very dark and ominous looking. After the workover, I am very pleased to see the piece now has some life in it.

I realised that there is a lot of kiln paper crud all round the piece and it will take a lot of sanding and grinding to make it nice. I am not really up for that amount of standing in the freezing cold. It has been put on hold and another couple of wine bottles are in tonight getting flattened.

Off to that warm bed for me,
night all xxx

Morning Dot, i did have a roll up Saturday morning, I seldom play bowls on weekends, family time :D glad I wasn't playing yesterday freezing cold westerly & the sun when it did make an appearance had very little warmth in it.
I didn't play last week Tuesday was the same as yesterday, bitterly cold wind ripping in from the west, can't afford to get sick & Thursday I had to attend to some legal business.
The freezing wind is still ripping across the lake today.
Bruce has an appointment with eye specialist about having cataracts removed, hopefully he'll be able to see better.

Shirley, do you know this club at all? Got this from my old school friend , think she is chuffed.( Played in the Pottsville Pelican 4's & won the side played super bowls .) Another stinking rotten day again, all I have done today is a couple of loads of washing, sheets are pegged up under the verandah and the rest is on the drying rack in front of the fire, they will be dry by the morning. They say we have 88mls of rain and that I can believe. Heading off to Mt Barker in the morning for the funeral of one of the guys G worked with for years in the Post Office, only G left now out of the his era, The big C hits again. Have had 2 calls from a Vic today, "Hello, this is rangi calling from the Australian combined charities" !!! Hello rangi, goodbye rangi = clunk ... Deborah I love that latest blob creation, it looks like it has little yellow flowers on it. Shower time so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight WayneP x :D

Pottsville is in Northern NSW Dot, we would only get to play with them if we managed to qualify for state events & they qualified too. When you are a financial bowling member of any NSW bowling club then you can play at any other club as a visitor.
Two of my friends left for Bargara Beach, Bundaberg last week, they stay at the caravan park for 3 months every winter, they play at all the clubs locally in the area, don't know if the have to join a Qld., club when they stay that long. Several of the members that travel take their bowls away with them, I never bothered on account of Bruce not being a bowler.

Found out that Bruce has Glaucoma today, went to organise to have his cataracts removed, he is to take an eye drop each night for 8 weeks then she will operate & remove same, after 5 weeks he has an appointment to check that they are working & have measurement taken for lens.

Good night everyone.
Shirley & Bruce.

Dot you are enjoying almost the same big freeze as us. Hope the washing is dry in the morning for you and I am glad you like the little flowers on the piece. I have the tiny flowers and leaf squiggly bits, sent to me from a lovely lady in Croatia and another lady in Western Australia, just to give it something extra special. xxxx

Shirley, I hope that you get success with Bruce's eyes. As I will have to have cataracts done eventually, I will be interested in how he goes. The winds are so horrible and frozen, that your balls will need to be retuned next time you can actually get out and play.

We had some awnings put up 11 years ago on our house and next door. With all the winds we have noticed the strings that lace the vinyl/fabric covers onto the steel posts are starting to fail. This company was a real pain to deal with when we had them built, but I rang them to ask for advice. New owners. They offered to send a rep out today, so I didn't hold my breath. I was still eating breakfast when he arrived and could not have been more helpful. Will try to get a crew out here next week to remove the fabric and have it altered to attach it in a different way that has no lacings. This will be interesting and probably expensive, but they will only be blown to death if the stay up much longer.

Just to show you why I have been using colourful language in my shed. This is the finished earrings. If you look closely on the price label, you will see how tiny the magnets are, and yet they are so very strong.
