This a copy of our 3rd conversation with the phone mob somewhere over seas. Last night I had chat with another rep, thought all was ok because I got a verification email. Then lunch time get a text from Telstra at contact the chat thing again to confirm????? did that then a phone call saying they can not send to c/o Post Office, luckily I gave the phone to G as I can't understand that mob. Thought all sorted NUP, another ph call from the bloody same lady asking for residential address and they can not send to C/o Post Office WTF? I was ropeable luckily G is so patient. So it ended with the lady saying all alright we shall send your ph. Now we just wait to see where it goes????? NOT HAPPY JAN at all

Info: You are now connected with Analene
Analene: Hi there, my name is Analene. I understand that you would like to verify your online order, am I correct?I correct?

George: yes the order was placed on 24th the ref no is b0102375 when will the order be posted
Analene: Let me check it for you.

Analene: Hi George, I have pulled out your online order however it has not been placed properly for you have to provide me an alternative delivery address.

George: as we are travelling the address will be care of the post office tenant creek postcode 0860
Analene: My apologies, we are not allowed to deliver for PO box addresses.

George: we are travelling for the next 3 months
Analene: Hi George, I understand that, however we cannot process your request if you will provide us PO box adress. Maybe you have friends that can be your alternative delivery address?

George: C/o Post office is not a postal box
Analene: My apologies, post office is also not recommended to be a delivery address. What we require is a Residential Address to push through with your orders.

Analene: Are we still connected?

George: Our nearest friend is in SA and we are in Alice springs. Are you in Australia? Would you please speak to a supervisor to get this resolved our phone was stolen and out here you need one
Analene: I understand that you really need the sim card that you have ordered. However, I hope you understand that we have standard operating procedures to follow with regards to the required address that you must provide.

Analene: No worries. I got you, the next option is to visit a nearest Telstra Store to get the sim physically.

George: I think you have got it mixed up. we ordered a new phone and did you speak to your supervisor ?
Analene: Yes George, I have spoke with my supervisor. Even if you have provided m a postal address it will not push through. The only way to get the device is for you to provide a residential address to sort this out or for you to go to a Telstra Store and purchase the sim / device that you have ordered online.

George: When I ordered & paid the ph online I received a verification to say it was ok. Nothing regarding a residential address. Is there a phone number we can speak to someone. Are you in Australia?
Analene: You can contact our Boost hotline via 125-*****.

Analene: Hi George, I am based overseas.

George: I thought so as you have no idea of the distances here.
Analene: My apologies George.

Analene: But for your order to push through I will be needing a Residential Address to process this for you.

Analene: Are we still connected?

George: I do not have a residential address have always had items C/o post office. I am sure you are miss interpreting this address thing wrongly
Analene: Okay George, here's what I can do for you. I will update you online order with the post office address that you will provide me.

Analene: I will give you a reference number for this for you to follow up again, how does that sounds?
Analene: Are you still there?

Analene: Kindly be advised that this chat conversation will automatically close off if we missed to receive response from you within 3 minutes so make sure to send me a message so I can keep the chat session active.

George: That sounds about right I put the Post office address, post code on the order it should still be there, Here is how to address the packet. Mr.G. Beaumont C/o Post Office , TENNANT creek, northern TERRITORY POST CODE 0860
George: are you there
Analene: Hi George, I have noted your postal address. Please have this reference number SR 1-2095228727131 as a proof of our transaction.

Analene: You cna provide that to the next agent if you want to follow up on oyur reqesut.

Analene: Is there anything else I can help you with?

George: How long do you think it will take to get to Tennant Creek?
Analene: It would take 3-5 business days George.

George: I notice on the shipping and delivery it states that if you are not home to receive the article then it is taken to the post office for pick up ???
Analene: That's correct Geroge. If there is no one from the house to recieve the parcel. And if it is not claimed, it will be bring back with us.
George: so in reality there is no difference as the item will be in the care of a post office. Thank you for your assistance
Analene: No worries. It is my pleasure to help you out. Thank you for using Telstra Live Chat. Have a great day ahead.

Dottie,

Sounds like the regular conversations I had with Telstra while we were having data stolen, most likely from someone within Telstra, as I changed passwords every time it happened.

I had regular monthly circular arguments with -- at first -- their automated chatbot, then when I failed to respond, or gave a gibberish word as the reason for the call, I was transferred to a human in India... with similar conversations to yours.

They reckoned the data was disappearing because we were live-streaming video daily... on ONE bar of 3G signal?!?!?!?!? We lost 15GB in 15 minutes one day! We even lost data while I had the Telstra dongle turned off!
Someone was live-streaming, but it wasn't us!

Couldn't seem to get that idea through to them until the Telecommunications Ombudsman was brought into the conversation.
Then suddenly they understood, and offered us release from the contract with no penalties for early termination.

I accepted their offer on the spot. :D

Ray

Dot, when I purchased my phone from Boost it was delivered to my PO box. You may be able to ask the post office for a PO box number that it couild be delivered to.

I'm not being picky, Ray, however, should there be an R in AAARGH? Perhaps the extra A or two counterbalances it. It's not important to me but when I saw the word "AAARGH" being used, POW! It all came back to me - The Phantom. That is probably where I learnt to spell because one could rely on spelling being correct in the newspapers back then. ;)

Made it to Barrow creek for lunch and to catch up with news. George in the end they agreed to send it to the Post Office but this will not be the last they hear about it. We even gave them the postal address of the TC post office but they couldn't comprehend that either. Now we have to wait till it gets to Tennant Creek so just how long that will be ?? Whom/what ever invented flies needs to be dealt with asap. Bye for now One more grouch, I thought there was/is a drought here? how come they are growing vines at Ti Tree? Just sayin

Steve,.

I used the English spelling.
The Yanks pronounce the Rs
... and I thought it was Charlie Brown who popularised the "AAAAAARRGH!" with his kite-eating tree.

:P  :P

And you're right, nowadays, with the replacement of sub-editors by (American) spellcheckers (which they occasionally use), journalists' spelling has gone out the window, along with correct grammar.
