Getting back to the original point of this post...
(how unusual!! ;) )
The Auto Electrician has found the cause of the (no longer) mysterious stalling of Girt's engine. Some component attached to the fuel pump had passed its use-by date (only 16 years!).
It has now gone across the road to the Diesel Mechanic to have two fluid leaks fixed: power steering & diff.
After that, we bring Girt home :D ... and hand her to the panel shop for some beauty treatment, including replacement of the body striping.
When HE's finished, we might get time (between community group meetings) to take a week or three up country.

YAAAAAYYY!!
GIRT IS HOME AT LAST!!

After being MIA since March, she’s finally back on her home slab!

And she looks fabulous! Had all the cracked & fading striping & decals replaced, and she’s been polished.

All that’s left now is a good spring-clean on the inside, and she’ll be as good as new.

Looking forward to getting away in her asap. Gotta get past a Birthday Bash weekend after this for SWMBO first... 😁

Too excited getting her home to bother breaking out the camera. Maybe tomorrow, before Newcastle George visits.
Although I’m not sure you’ll notice any difference. The new stripes are an exact replica of the originals... except for a minor change at the rear to make her legal: a white reflective stripe has been changed to a red reflective stripe. Dunno how Winnebago got the white stripe past rego, as it’s illegal to show white lights or reflectors to the rear. Only red is allowed.
And NO, we’ll BOTH be occupying the right-hand seat (although not simultaneously 😜).

Note also, we had an outline map of Oz front & rear, within which was the wording, "Our home is... GIRT".
However, the vinyl aged, cracked and started to curl at the edges. When we removed them, the adhesive left a black outline which was clearly readable.
We asked the sign bloque to just put a map of Oz over the marks. He excelled himself!! Very spiffy!
