Another Lithium user

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Yes, good news!
Should we (us members) be looking into setting up a replacement service?
There seems to be a vacancy for a drive in, change over facility.
Biggest trouble I see is the multitude variety of chargers, regulators, wiring setups and perhaps size of wallets.
I'm quite sure a lot of people just don't want the hassle of sorting it all out.

The biggest hurdle is education. There is little hope of a user pulling at Battery World or the auto sparkie and getting a problem sorted, hard enough with lead acid batteries and they came out with button up shoes. The average auto Joe would take one look and then start fiddling, learning at your expense, sound familiar?
The whole thing I set out to try and achieve is an understanding of how the system works, then you can put it together yourself, save a fortune, and learn as you go. If a problem does arise, a few simply tests will locate where the problem is, you know where the parts are, you fitted them, you know what you should see at certain points, if that's not happening you know where it's working and where it stops working. A few question on the forum and the problem can be solved fairly quickly.
Gone are the days of the freedom camper being able to throw a handful of money at someone and getting good job done, that just doesn't happen anymore I'm afraid, you need to know what is expected to happen, so if it doesn't, you can fix it, or guide someone else to fix it.

Cannot wait to get my big system up and running, been great playing with the prepackaged all in one though, and thanks to T1's advice learned heaps in a short time. Once I have it changed over might rename the swagman australian dream to australian dreamliner. :D :D

I agree, never been happier since fitting the Lithium Battery pack. Pity not so luckey with the inverter. My 2000W MSW finally gave up after 4 years. Tried the el cheapo chinese 1000w PSW that I had trouble with. Ti told me how to tickle it to work on modern fridges. Yup got it working for about 10 hours before it once again decided powering a 200W ffridge compressor was to hard. So now waiting on a 1500W PSW, once again from china, different factory. Will see how it goes. May have a 100W PSW inverter for sale soon.

(PS Terry, i had to wind the trim pot to over 258V under load before it would recognise the fridge start up. Do not want to tweak it any higher)

Hi Steven,
Did you try adjusting the over load protection to a higher setting, they deliberately set them low to get around heat issues when under constant high load.
I would bring the voltage back to 250v unloaded, should hold around 235v to 240v loaded then. Stay away from that middle screw, that one's frequency, ya don't wanna mess with that one unless you have a CRO to reset it

NO NO NO ladies.

I have the bus setup for ME and that's what I want.

Gawd not being able to use all those vertical services for MY stuff and then SHE might want some room in the SHED.

You got to be joking. I tried three times and failed so decided it was me so really I am doing it to protect the ladies. Or that's my idea anyhow.

Sitting here in the middle of a paddock, finished work had the nice shower and now siting under the aircon waiting for mate to come and we are off to tea in chinese restaurant.
