Outback Campers, I think they are near Albury, make an alloy slideon with a liftup camper top for the back of utes use a plastic hinge for all the hinges on the side gullwing doors. Mate had to replace one door and hinge recently after attempting to back the ute out of the garage with one of the doors open. Bent the xxit out of the door, moved the brick pillar on the corner of the garage but the hinge was still usable when the poprivets holding it to the body and the remains of the door were drilled out despite being bent almost at 90 degrees.
Outback Campers supplied a replacement door and hinge complete.

Gooday Craig.
When I built our TD back a few yr ago I went 'cheapy' with 2 gate hinges, or 'T' hinges. worked well with a 200mm wide strip of neoprene from Clarke Rubber to cover the gap. Heavily glued it to the roof and it sat flat. I was surprised and pleased that it didn't flap about while travelling, but it never leaked.
Anyway........ have you tried Reiner Gudd for a hinge ?
There's some discussion here about them. Scroll down to a thread from Feb 10th, about 3/4 down the page.

I have used centaflex with great results on our bus front door but it looks a bit heavier than your picture

Thanks guys, the centreflex does not have the opening range I need.
I require the same as what is currently fitted. The flat extruded plastic like in the pics. I have found a company in Victoria that has a 25' roll. For around $180 delivered. It looks like that is going to be my only choice.

Craig,

See if you can flog the rest off using ebay. If you've had so much trouble others will too . Maybe make a little profit.
