Replacing Steam Iron...

My mother taught me to iron my own clothes at about the age of seven, as she was chronically ill and died prematurely.
I even ironed creases into my jeans!

Lasted until I was married.

Shortly after we were married, I made the mistake of complaining that SWMBO did not iron my business shirts the way I liked them done.
She promptly handed me the iron and departed for the kitchen.
Ever since I have ironed my own clothes, hers, and our children's until they left home. (Son-and-heir did learn to iron his army uniforms, but lapsed once he returned to live with us temporarily. )
There was an hiatus while I was in hospital for a year, and for a few months after, until I was physically able to resume.
I still iron our clothes, and still iron creases into my jeans, something I missed when SWMBO was on ironing duty...

I’m with Joy. Creases do not belong in jeans IMHO.

I rarely iron anything these days. Shirts, dresses etc are hung on hangers when washed and then straight in the wardrobe. Everything else is folded straight off the line and does not need pressing. Nothing gets ironed when we travel.

No. You were wrong in the first place. ( where's the icon for challenging the Master) . Jeans never had a seam, did they?

I never had a steam powered iron, mine were all manual powered, same as the woods. They were numbered to indicate the number of yards the ball would head left rather than dropping on the green or fairway if I miscalculated the length handle I needed. I finally solved the problem by giving up golf completely, started putting on weight because I wasn't getting near as much exercise walking through the scrub looking for the ball. I finally got it down to under 100 strokes, but the back 9 was never even close to that

If you mean the thing for removing wrinkles from clothes, the new steam brushes work great, if you want to get nice creases in you pants and shirts, best find a local laundry that even understands what that means ... if you want the less nice creases, get a front load washing machine with a very high speed spin cycle, the clothes come out near dry with creases even a steamroller could flatten
