Spoke to some people to have a look at Gen.
One bloke suggested I plug a powered drill in a advise what happens.
So cranked it up and plugged in my little drop saw. This time the Green Pilot light was on, not before.
Worked a treat and no overload, drop saw about 1400 watts, so asked the man if he could test, he said nothing the test.
Picked up fridge from Bob, icy cold.
Good job Bob.

"tanks" here---Kappy
What did you use in the first place---was it a drill or the saw or whatever.
Check the tool first used for an electrical fault, or a short, or damage in some way.

I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

Re: Generator cutting out
If it hasn't been used for a while it may have just needed flashing.
not much more can be offered until the model and make is supplied.
Bruce, sounds like you've got it running ok?
