44.... it's a baby. Mine is 49. Oct 72.
Bernie, take your time and do everything right. Then, like me, when you're heading to Uluru and see all the wrecks on the side of the road and an empty highway; and then the missus asks what will we do if we break down? You confidently say we won't.
So far, on the road, I've had to replace a fuel filter (Marla), fix a hand brake release cable (Tassy), sort some plumbing out. That's about it. Preparation is well worth the effort.
We only had school holidays. 2 weeks touring to get there and then the boys and Yahiro flew home for school. I drove back to Melb in 4 days.
What did you do to your rig today?

Taking time doesn't seem to be a problem...
Doing it right often takes a time or 2 of doing it wrong and fixing it.
But we get there in the end.
Don't think we will have much to go wrong when we do get going, but whatever it might be I reckon I can fix it - I know most of the nuts and bolts quite intimately... a lot of them have my skin on them.
Like you we want to go up the centre and over to the west as we have never been there.
But it's been a long time since we travelled the south east too.
Though we did the Great Ocean road again last year on our way back from Tassie.
Cheers,
Bernie

You can truthfully say the bus shares your DNA, just do a sample analysis of any of the bolts. Our big bus it a bit the same, if it isn't skin, its blood, come to think of it, just about anything I work on fits into that category .....El Gringo wrote: ↑Fri Jul 17, 2020 12:06 pm Taking time doesn't seem to be a problem...

Re: What did you do to your rig today?
Sorry about the delay, this is the unit with the correct specs and photo. You have to wonder about the reseller when they can't even get the specs correct for the unit they are selling, all the specs are for a 24v unit .....Grandad wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 9:51 amThat would be THIS ONE. Yes?
That would be amazing if you could do that. Thank you.We have a bar fridge at home so I can connect that up using different inverters to see just which works best and has the lowest 24hr battery draw while running the fridge so we have a base line for future reference.

G did the usual pre trip check list on the bus, oil, water, ran the genny, tyres , cleaned the windscreen and washed the solar panels. Hoping to head to the block on Wednesday for a few days.

Did the usual pre getting away checks, Kalbarri for 2 weeks, connected the power and put some water into the tanks.
Just got a replacement toilet flush relay in the post today, so tomorrow I will be cursing the builders of the toilet as I try to see into the cavity and get the old one replaced.
Dometic wanted $75 for the replacement relay, got it from E Bay $16, identical relay

Started the Hino to move it from in front of the workshop to the side of the workshop. I think the cloud of white smoke could become an issue in Adelaide in an hr or so ..... after spending a small fortune getting the pump and injectors overhauled, gotta wonder what the problem is, poor compression perhaps?
