Think I will be going with the new version of the 4 seasons hatch, the plastic one. I still can't find out exactly how it allows air to flow when its closed up. Probably does somehow as there is a rain deflector that sits at the front so guessing this does what it supposed to do ??? as there must be some sort of air gap there.
Anyone with a new version of the 4 seasons that can have a look or post a photo, please.

Re: Water proof Ceiling Vent.
Just shows you how silly these regs are don't it ?
We fitted a chinamans hat as the roof vent and a bunnings plastic vent in the bottom of the door.
The roof vent goes to the outside of the vehicle, but is covered with 10 solar panels and will have 3 motorised awnings down each side, so not much airflow there, yet is legal and I have the gas certificate to prove it.
To be honest I don't think the gas fitter even looked at vents closely, saw him glance at the roof one and say, thats allright.
Didn't ask where the alarm was.
And there is a drop down section of the floor where the steps are, doesn't seal tightly over the stairwell so that could be construed as not free flowing.
Arrrrrgggghhhh bus conversion all good fun isn't it !!

Re: Water proof Ceiling Vent.
I will give the MaxxAir Fannmate vent cover a 12/10, in all that extremely heavy rain and wind over the last few days, with the vent wide open, not a drop came inside the Mazda. Just checked it now with the sun shining on the roof, it would normally be a sweat box by now, even without fan running (no batteries connected) it's quite bearable and I can feel the air moving up through the fly screen fan cover flowing outside. A very camper... well as far as that bit anyway
As far a gas inpections go, Dottie can tell a few stories about there "certified" gas system after Spook checked it out, a good gas fitter. Another member here had their inside hot water system ticked off and a full approval gas ceryificate supply, that has been illegal for a very long time, not a recent thing at all.

Terry,
Vent sounds good, bit of relief there. This next lot of rain and wind if it gets down to you will give it a test big time. Wind up here would have blow a dead dog of the chain. Hope its finally gone but looks like another low brewing up there in Qld. You would think they would be good enough to keep their problems up there....Lol.

Re: Water proof Ceiling Vent.
Four seasons vent finally arrived, the 4 vent lids are actually 2 piece hollow covers and have an open cavity system which allows air flow even though the vents are fully closed. Guess this is how they claim they meet the new gas requirements, pretty clever engineering.
