Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Be nice Peter, I think it was said in jest.

Hi Terry

Re" [1]Something you can't see is all the terminals are coated with Alminox so resistance is extremely low,
[2] but I guess you already know about that stuff, having worked in high current applications for a livingi Terry " "

[1]That does reduce the risk factor considerably ;) :)
Just our little secret as to why that is important
BUt as you would understand ,some of those logger leads may not ALWAYS in the future pick up the ACTUAL INDIVIDUAL CELL voltage.
[2]YES ,
EXTRA EXTRA low voltages up in the TENS of THOUSAND of AMPS. ;) :)

A minor example of what can happen if you don't do it correctly
Not using the proper paste for connections.jpg
Some get much more serious, but mainly with EV's they drag much bigger amps.

Keep your sense of humour going. That other place does not have one.

Hi Terry
Yes ,a good example & once started ,SNOWBALLS!!
& just imagine how much that would throw the cell logger reading out ;) :)
And the more JOINTS between that battery terminal & the cell logger lead the more risk
[Joints in series =cumulative errors]

But the paste does not last forever ;)
ps it may have improved from my days :)
We were uing Utilux compound with Al to Al & Al to Cu joints, after about 10years we found some joints where starting to heat up
One to the stage it actually melted the Al.
of course it may have been an application problem , not done correctly by the electrician.

BUt we progessively cleaned & redid ALL the Joints to be sure

Peter

If the paste is applied when connection is made, it does not need repasting unless you open the connections and feel the need to reaply the paste which should only be done if the terminals and the lead terminals have been scrubbed clean again..
