Bushmaster Generator

Post by shonky »

Hi, all.

http://www.australiandirect.com.au/buy/ ... r/G2000i-1

Any opinions? FYI Snowflakes is fitted with 2x135a solar panels, 2x120w FullRiver AGMs, and a Prostar regulator and it's hoped to plug the genset into the standard 230v exterior socket.

Hi, all.

Adminperson - my mistake, Bushpower, not Bushmaster, 2kv. Just to back up the solar in case we have a couple of weeks of rain. Washing machine, fridge etc.

Do ytou have a link to the site Shonky? Every man and his dog seems to be putting their own name of other manufacturers generator sets, or anything esle come to think of it, you have no idea just what make it is till you actually see the thing and the specs, then you can gerally back track to the real manufacturer.
Personally, I'd buy an inverter generator if I was ever going to buy another one, the frequency and voltage is much more stable that with them as they are not rpm dependant.

Hi, all.

T I Terry - that's the only link available, and they're looking too cheap for comfort. Would running a 1kv Honda through the outside fitting thereby charging the batteries and running 230v via the house inverter be a safe bet, and ensure the Imac 21 came to no harm? (had to throw that in)

Should this link go into the Joker's palace?

For some reason the link to your first choice wasn't there when I looked before.... or I'm loosing the plot... probably more likely that one actually.
For the money, if you aren't planning on using it 24/7, I think it would be fine. Ican't remember what the waranty offered was, did it say on the link?

HI, all.

T I Terry - just bought the 1kva genny with a compressor included via Evilbay for $489. The sooner we get it the sooner we can unplug Snowflake from the rellie's garage and hit the road again. FYI the warranty is for 2 years.

Did you check out the AliBaba link?

Hi, all.

Wilbor - the 1kva. The big one is too heavy for Mrs shonky to lift.

Great pics of your lawn and swimming hole-how flat's your driveway?

Worked for me Terry. Would like comment on the battery pack demo at the tail end of 1kVA gen set video please, so have another go HERE.

I remember this mob from way back when they advocated (and seems they still do) running Waeco type compressor fridges off batteries for about a week and then charging the batteries with a 1kVA generator for three or four hours. Probably a setup more suitable for caravans and/or tent/camper trailer users as it's all portable.
Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.
