Buyer beware

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Buyer beware

Post by Jim »

If you are looking at replacing batteries or power adapters, you may come across Fast Battery on the web.
A word of warning - be wary dealing with them. I did - and still waiting for my adapter. Dispute now in progress with PayPal.

I think it's an unfortunate sign of the times Jim.
On my last trip I finally let off some steam when my old faithful Kodak camera kissed a gumtree at great force. (long story but obviously a short internally that flattened batteries in 30 seconds)
I've now bought two on Ebay with neither yet to arrive.
Second one I;'m hopeful but the first one should be refund 24th Feb.
To be honest I think she was in the floods but still no excuse for no response.
Phones are OK but not the best facility for zooming in etc.
What was the adaptor for Jim?

Have just been advised by PayPal that they have have concluded their investigation into my case and have decided in my
favour. They advised that they were able to recover $xx.xx AUD, and this amount has been credited to
me. I have to allow 5 business days for the adjustment to be posted.

So again a warning - do not deal with this online seller!!

That's good news Jim.
In reality Ebay probably don't need to refund it because it could have been lost in the post and be no fault of the seller.
It's a real bonus that Ebay (PayPal?) do refund on non delivery.

It wasn't eBay - it was an online seller. And I can guarantee you that it was not lost in the post, nor was it even posted. The lack of any communication from the seller testifies to that.
If you phoned, faxed and emailed someone and never got any response whatsoever, would you still feel that they may have sent the item and it has just gone astray. Highly unlikely. Remember that PayPal gives the seller the opportunity to respond to them before taking any action. Obviously the response by this seller to them was the same as to me...ZILCH!!
Just wish that I could get some authority now to take action regarding this site before others are sucked in.

Is it likely that PayPal will honour any future dealings with this outfit? I mean, once burnt...

Aw, now I understand an earlier post regarding your old faithful, which was most likely the victim of tin whiskers before the up close and personal with said tree. :(

dawg (click on tin whiskers above or google for more info and more interesting photos)
Experience is a wonderful thing. It helps you recognise a mistake when repeated.
