Australian Trivia Only

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Ray, is it the old water in Rutherglen Vic, that is painted to resemble a wine bottle?
Probably not far from your place.

Ka-CHING!!
Got it, David!
Quite a few years ago, some bright spark had the idea of saving the redundant water tower from demolition by putting a steel framework on top to make it into a wine bottle.
Very clever, as the open steelwork on top of the brick tower with iron tank makes it look like a bottle ¾ full. 😜
(Apparently a full steel bottle-shaped canopy would have been too heavy for the old brickwork.)

Unfortunately it is now Heritage Listed, so we can’t put a label on it saying “Welcome to Rutherglen”...

I’ll post a pic soon. (It’s about 1.5km from our house.)

Meantime, David, you’re IT! 😁
Regards & God bless,
Ray

I hope that someone, anyone, can come up with the same answer that I gave in my head.
Who used to run the most famous two up house in the 60- 70's in Melbourne. I dont know if Mr Google or Wikipedia will help.

No Jon, it was a man, with a fearsome reputation in gambling circles.
Edit. He did play footy for Footscray many years ago.
