Thought for Today

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Sorry to hear that, Dot.
Lost my Bro-in-Law through similar work practices with the MMBW (Melbourne Metro Board of Works).
He didn’t help himself by continuing smoking... but it was mainly welding in confined spaces.
Instructions booklet with my welder says only work in well-ventilated areas.
I reckon the MMBW was aware of the danger. Just ignored it, hoping no worker would realise the connection and sue.

David,
They’re 20c coins. I have a collection of about 50+ various commemorative & special event mintings... including those two.
Have quite a few 50c specials as well.
I also have the first 50c coin I received in change... the round one with 80% silver content. Still carrying it on my key ring. A bit worn-looking. Well, actually almost unreadable. 😜

I might have to start looking at my change. I have seen a few different $1 +$2 lately, but didn't realise that 20c ones were on the list. Not many places are even accepting cash since covid hit. The taxman must be loving it.
Cheers

"tanks" here--
The "RAMS HEAD" 50c were the valuable ones also. not very many of them around now.
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.

I received those two 20c coins in change when buying mower blades yesterday. One was 2005 the other 2015. I haven't found anywhere that doesn't take cash around Newcastle Dave.

It's been on my keyring since February 20th, 1966! No wonder it's looking tired...

I got bored during lockdown, so I took up fencing.
The neighbour told me to put it back.
