Digital TV in a van for Dummies

Post by Swisslulu »

This is very basic stuff but we are flummoxed. We recently replaced the old analogue TV in our van with a Kogan digital. Staying at Sommerville Valley CP outside of Stanthorpe, we were able to tune in various channels transmitting from Toowoomba. When we got to Dumaresq Dam outside Armidale, we were told by fellow campers that TV reception was excellent but no matter which way we pointed the aerial, we got zip. Now we are at Premer and again attempting to tune in but without success. I have downloaded Antenna Mate but still have no reception when using that as a guide. So what are the tricks? Or do we have to resort to buying a satellite dish?
Cheers

As the Boss says, make sure you have selected DTV - Digital Television - (Source) & just in case it slipped your mind - retune for the area you are in. :D

Admin, top right button on remote is Mute. :? But definitely have DTV selected. Using Antenna Mate, I have selected transmitters with the strongest signal, pointed the antenna in that direction and tried both auto tune and manually tuning to the channels listed for that transmitter. No luck either way. :(

This might be a silly question, but, is your antenna signal passing through an antenna amplifier?

Steve, the antenna does go through a booster. Grandson is only six so not au fait with TV tuning. iPads and iPhones are another matter though! ;)
