I have a new lady in my life.
With not only SWMBO’s blessings, but her enthusiastic support!
Her name is Kelly.
She’s a 5yo rescued greyhound.
We lost our long-term companions, Beagle and Paddy the Labrador. Beagle lost his battle with cancer a year ago, aged 15; Paddy (14.6yo) succumbed to a combination of age-related problems, also including cancer, a few months ago.
For both of us, life seemed not as good without a companion animal, hence Kelly!

Glad you got your new mate and hope she settles in nicely. She will take your mind off being in isolation. Cheers to you all.

I think Kelly is settling in at home very easily…

(Had to put the blanket under her head, she was using a boot last for a pillow.)

Re: A new lady in my life
My daughter Sarah is involved with the rescue greyhound thing and has a few herself I believe ... well that is what the daughter that still speaks to me tells me anyway
They make great companions and I'm sure you will all be happy together, so congratulations to the three of you.
Barry with the big bus is back to get a few issues with the DC to DC charger getting hot, so I'm trying different methods of adding fans to move some of the heat away. He has just returned from a trip across the river to actually see a man about a dog ... and has returned complete with dog .... and what a performance from Coco and Ruby ... Coco has the hackles up like a strip on conduit threaded under his coat, Ruby is squealing and howling because she wants to meet the new dog
Ruby is the hardest to get settled down, the high pitched squealing is ear splitting

Barry's new mate is called Buddha ... not sure if that is the way his name is spelt, Brutus would have worked just as well. A well tempered very friendly dog, muscles on muscles but I don't think he knows in himself just how big he is, Coco put the wind up him

I wondered how long he would last without a companion to travel with.

Re: A new lady in my life
We were warned that one was never enough…
She’s three, and retired from racing after five races, one win.
Picked her up last night. Delivered by road from the same adoption service lady who found Kelly for us.
Currently going through the introduction process.
Kelly seems a bit put out that she now has to share our affection…
Slowly and gently.

Was Megs a birthday present ? Happy Birthday
Keith.
I'm now 87 years old, having experienced another birthday, and I'm still living in WA, single (gave up looking), white hair, no teeth, no money, no worries.
I plan to have another birthday next year.
