Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Could you put shards or marbles or things in the bottle? And flatten then too

Imagine a little glass sail ship in the flattened bottle.

Deborah I will keep my eyes open for red bottles for you :D Watched the blind people playing soccer in the Paralympics and the blind runners bloody hell you would have to have such confidence with the person you are tied to wow. Had a note from a friend in Vic he has been diagnosed with Pancreatic and liver cancer, bloody hell what next? We decided at lunch time today to just hop in the bus and head to the block for a day or so, couldn't go too far as Gman has appointments next week. Going to bed now and watch the boys on bikes ;) Take care on the roads everyone. Goodnight one and all x :D Goodnight Shirley x :D

Dot, we have enough plonkos in this town to keep me supplied in bottles for life. I will be asking for their donations soon. Enjoy escaping in the bus, now I am jealous. xxxx

Jon, you ask hard questions. Simplest answer...no. Any bottle can't be fused to bits of any other glass because we don't know it's manufacturing processes. If I took bits of marbles or other glass and fused it into a bottle, it could seem to be a great result. In time, a week, even up to years, the bottle would just crack into many pieces or explode. Apparently even bottles that look the same, from the same booze company don't always come from the same factory and so the general rule is that no glass gets mixed with anything unknown.

Here is a poor pic of the mosaic plate. The edges are sparkly, but a lot more black than I expected too. One with light directly behind it and the other it's turned to give more shadow.

We finally got some very light showers tonight, just enough to water the garden.

Good morning Dot, carried away watching a serial on Netflix last evening, didn't realise the time.
Enjoy your couple of days at the block, good to get away while you are able, our neighbor pasted away a couple of weeks ago, fell after having a few reds taken to hospital by ambulance, where his condition deteriorated, dementia accelerated too, discovered he had some type of blood cancer, no platelets in blood count after 3 weeks decided on chemotherapy, wife decided not at his age 82 & in his condition, transferred to Mater hospice lasted 2 weeks, we never know what's around the corner, she is waiting to get final health result, 5 weeks certainly changed the family's life & with Covid & lockdown only the daughter living in Newcastle was able to be with her, no funeral cremated, so sad.

Shirley,
That sounds like Multiple Myeloma. Severe depletion of platelets can be rapidly terminal.
Fortunately mine was discovered just in time.

Alexander is feeling a lot better thanks David, he had the jab Thursday arvo & was very unwell Friday, woke up Saturday & the headache had gone, still has body aches & pains but is eating again, no nausea.

Think you may have nailed it Ray, Myeloma was mentioned also some type of leukaemia, my sister in law was diagnosed with follicular lymphoma a few years ago, she had chemotherapy treatment & has been in remission.

Myeloma is the mirror image of Leukemia — attacking the red cells, where Leukemia attacks the white cells. One variety is Myeloid Leukemia.
That's probably where it was mentioned.
Treatment these days is quite routine and successful, no matter what leukemia or myeloma it is. Often a bone marrow transplant is suggested. I was one of the pioneer guineapigs test subjects for using Autologous Transplants, where the patient's own bone marrow is removed cleaned of cancerous cells and returned (in several stages). Painful, but now a standard therapy, highly successful. And faster than waiting for a donor.

Good question Dot. I can melt anything that is made of glass, it's just the knowing how high to cook it and how to bring it to the right temperature to settle the molecules in the glass, so that it wont do the ole exploding vase trick. I am experimenting with a broken, modern crystal vase at the moment. After doing a lot of research, I think I have the right formula, but this is not something that I would normally do and certainly it will not be for sale (just in case of the exploding events). Enjoying your block time I hope. xxxx

Today, the winds were horrific, so it was not a going out in the yard day. I did a quick trip down to my shed to put some chalk under the neck of the now flattened wine bottle and send it back to warm up again. Then I finished doing the research for the crystal vase. It wasn't cut crystal, it is a very pale aqua colour and has a very thick heavy base. Somewhere in my mind, I seem to remember this stuff was called Bohemian crystal, but not sure. I do know it would have been an expensive vase and bad luck to the lady who dropped it.

Hope all of you who qualified, have had a wonderful father's day.
Night from me xxx
Deborah
