Had a wonderful day catching up with dear friends Ivan, Ros, Old forumites) George, and baby blue Me. They have been on the road for the past 6 months and are making a run for their home in Ballarat Vic. A couple of funny pics for you lot. Also HTFFBO is at Camoonweal Billabong for a couple more days and also calling in to see my friends in Mt Isa. Tomorrow we start to lay the pea straw around the garden and fruit trees. George went to put the possums snacks out and it was sitting in the tree just waiting, so cute, the possum not George  Deborah how did your latest artwork turn out? I am knackered after today so off to bed I go, Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Peter & Sandra x :D

Love the blue Dot, perfect. I put in a crepe myrtle many years ago, they are the slowest growing things on our block. Hope yours are faster growing. xxxx

Shirley, yes it is a blue copter. I have had a couple of people from the power station tell me about the way they are using that poor pilot to keep the ash from blowing on the highway. When the winds blow in other directions (like straight at us) they don't get the helicopter in. Obviously they are more concerned about being sued by a blinded driver than they are by a resident with breathing difficulties.

I am finally happy with a platter from the kiln. The colours are a lot nicer in reality. The red is a deep cherry red and it's transparent, so the contrast is beautiful.

Another of similar colouring is in the hotbox tonight.

Been a bit domesticated today, cleaning and cooking. Nothing to get excited about.

That's a beauty Deborah, good luck with the next one. Have to wait and see how the crepe myrtles grow. The boysenberries are nearly full grown so will have to put some netting over them before the birds or Possum get them. Watched the Bert Newton tribute show tonight, wish they would re run those crazy shows again eg IMT , GMA, The Don Lane show, so funny it is just what we need. Had to laugh when the word "shit" was frowned upon. And Graham did the crow call...  These days the PC' twats take no offence to the F & C bombs that is now every day lingo. The world is Fornicated. So with that I am saying goodnight everyone x :D & Goodnight Bernie x :D

We laughed through the Bert memorial too. You're right Dot, the tv world is effed . Those belly laughs don't happen with tv now. xxxx

Glad you liked the latest successful platter. The next one didn't drop into the mold enough, so it's being warmed a little hotter/longer tonight. Patience is always part of my work.

Had too many kids in the area trick or treating. As it's not an Aussie custom, we shut the gates and closed the doors, but in this day and age, it doesn't feel like a safe thing to be allowing children to do.

More fiddling in the garden and not much else

Another great day of 27 deg. Paid a visit to the green shed they are so expensive with their plants and to top it off not very well cared for either but I did get some silver beet seedlings for the birds and a punnet of mixed portulaca plants for the hanging baskets I had spare. Tomato plant is still looking alive  Then had to have my R) thumb X/R and U/S because the stupid thing has locked and won't bend if it does I hit the ceiling and say naughty words very loudly. Deborah I hope your plate has behaved itself this time. HTFFBO met my friend in Mt Isa and from what she said she had a good natter but did not meet the s---e. Would of loved to have seen her reaction . I ran when I saw the thing having it's tea, gross thing.. OK time to say goodnight everyone x Goodnight Toolman x :D

That's how the hammer shop works, Dot. They start off with very low prices to get rid of all the little local nurseries and once they are gone, the prices go up. We still have a few little nurseries to choose from, so the prices at hammer shop are not too dear. We prefer to shop with the little family owned places. xxxx

Took a lot of the day getting the patrol serviced. It had an early booking for a one hour service. Somehow it ended up taking three hours, hence our day was a bit wasted. We did manage to do a small aldi shop for a few things that woolies don't have. Aldi is just around the corner from the service area, so it was a good little walk/waste of half an hour.
Came home to check kil and it was much better. Next one is now firing away to get to the same shape tonight.

nighty night all xxx

Well just got back home from the Hospital and recovering slowly.
I've had a shadow on the top of the left lung and early last week I had a few calls scheduling an Opp , the scheduling changed a few times due to bed vacancies in the wards.
Then when I was having the first coffee for the day to kickstart the brain ( somedays it takes a few coffees to do that ) I had a phone call asking if I was available for that day and had I eaten anything.
I looked at my toast that I'd just bettered and said ."Not yet"
Good!
Then don't eat and get to Fiona Staney Hospital as quick as you can, we have a vacancy and you're next in line.
So I took a few things and made myself available for the surgery required to remove part of the left lung.
Well, long story and I woke up about 3 AM in a private ward, I had no idea of day or night as the blinds were down and the ward was dark , and feeling a bit sorry for myself as I tried deep breathing and not hurting too much.
Then I called Phyllis who promptly told me it was 4 Am not 4 Pm, glad it went well, now shutup and go back to sleep !
Ohh.. OK

So after the best care from the nurses for a few days until the drains were removed and an X Ray to show if the lower lung had not collapsed I was asked if I minded if I was shifted to another ward as they had an ED that needed a bed space.

Sure, OK , so I was shifted to another ward in a room with another person.
Then later during the day after the Doctor's visit I was given the all-clear to go home.

I used to joke with the nurses that I'd found the lifts during my walks and would escape one day.
I was told not to leave the 4th floor because if I had any episodes they'd have to leave me there as I was too big to carry back to my bed

Phyllis had come in to pick me up so it was all cleared for going home.
A short stroll to the bus stop with a few stops to get some energy, then the train back to Mandurah, and Phyllis taking all the disabled car park to pick me up at the station, I'm back home.

I've got a regimen of pain killers to take and apart from the slight post opp dizziness, dressings to cover the entry holes and feeling a bit weak, so far I'm doing OK.

Now I wait for the surgeon's review as to whether they took all the Cancer or there's more to come.

But I'm looking on the bright side as finding the Cancer in the first place was just a fluke and a very observant radiographer.

As an aside, the Nurses at Fiona Stanley Hospital are wonderful with care and treatments and I couldn't praise them enough.

Ron :D
