Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Hey, slavedriver, I got pics tonight
xxxx
Hope your recovery is quick and comfortable Ron. The results are still good until you hear other wise....hoping they will be perfect.
Last night and the previous nights worth of kiln time. I even left the little toes in the frame. They are attached to my feet, so they stay right there when I take pics
Tonight I have a couple of free formed shapes going through the process. I made molds from kiln fibre mat and shoved some bits of chalk around the edges to give some sort of organic bowl shapes. Tomorrow will be interesting.
Nothing much else to share, so night all xxx

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
You did yourself proud Deborah, they are beautiful, well done.
Shirley could you use a flymo for your sloping land?
Dropped into a Salvo's shop for a look, I soon walked out though, there was a new dress still had tabs on it and priced at $28 They had put their own price on for $35??? I bought it to the attention of the lady serving and she explained it away by saying" '' Most likely the person doing the pricing missed the original price tag" WT
Time for goodnight everyone x
Goodnight Bobr x
All the best for tomorrow xx

Dot, you must have been to some of the same sallies shops as I have. You really do have to look carefully at all the tags, and since when do sallies think us poor creatures would waste $35 on a dress? Thought they were meant to be doing a service to us poor peoples?

Thanks Shirley and Dot. I reckon red always sells well and it looks so shiny on those plates. Todays lot were not as exciting. One is stunning, but it has air bubbles right on the surface and I am not confident of getting rid of them. I will give it another firing soon, but am not holding my breath for it. I have a flat plate in the kiln tonight, fusing to get ready for the mold. As the kin is set up for that process, I will do another flat, firing with different glass, tomorrow. Then I will think about trying to remove the bubbles.
Spent a lot of time working out our calendar for next year. It's finally starting to look like we may getting a little bit more "normal". Festivals are returning to the usual formats and timeslots, so fingers are crossed here.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Alexander mowed the hill & down the sides of the house on Monday Dot, maybe a Flymo might be better than the motor mower after reading re same but the slope to the water is steep & I even had trouble turning the self propelled mower around down there, that's when I decided no more, we have buffalo grass down to a retaining wall, would be about 4 ft drop over, steps at one end down to the bottom ( lake edge), actually the mowerman that does next door uses a whippersnipper to do the slope. Alexander commented when I said that I can't do it," Nan I have trouble mowing it don't even try"
Raining & very overcast here now, only played 7 ends of bowls before the rain started earlier today.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
Right idea, Shirley.
A Flymo & a length of rope.
You can stand at the top of the slope and swing the mower from side to side.

Re: Nightly Goodnight Everyone
We had a Flymo and on the slope that I mow it kept trying to get to the bottom.
