Nightly Goodnight Everyone

Drop in and dribble on about nothing serious. Seriously a mad place to hang out. Better to avoid it if you're not in the mood!!! If you're determined to be sad, bad, mad & angry then move along!!!

Today I was so knackered and only after doing a few little jobs such as getting washing folded and put away, mixed Brians food packed it & into freezer. Woolies had sold out of the roo so G asked them to put 2 packs aside for today. Our resident lizzy was out and about as well. Knew it wouldn't be long before the new bug got here, well why wouldn't it ? the pollies thought we could use the $$$ they bring in. Really peeves me off, we do the right thing and yet !!!! Has anyone done up any furniture that is made of MDF and has veneer on it??? Take it easy Shirley, go and buy those bowling balls, that will cheer you up for sure. Deborah as you most likely know the virus is dormant inside you and can pop out at any time but with age more than likely it pops out as shingles. The tablet may suite you better... Doesn't your GP do phone consults? We are getting our lot maybe this week. And as for that last work of art it is just fantastic, well done. I asked Gman to get some steamed dim sims for me to try as they are soft, Took me a while but they went down, don't see the point really, no taste at all but I guess it helps me to poop. We are in for a warmish week so may head out to weed my mum and dad. Bed time, Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Norman x :D

Dottie,

1. MDF furniture with veneer.
If it’s reasonably new, the ‘veneer’ is likely to be printed paper, not an actual veneer of real wood.
Our Men’s Shed recently refurbished such a piece using a blowtorch to burn off the paper veneer & replacing it with a real wood veneer. We used an instant-grab glue (Z-Bond) which requires skill & practice for a smooth, bubble-free finish. Edge-banding was a real headache!

2. Steamed dim-sims and their after-effect.
I am reminded of a line from the film “Wake In Fright”:
“Ya gotta eat mate! If yer don’t eat, yer don’t sh!t, an’ if yer don’t sh!t, yer die!”
Regards & God bless,
Ray

Dot, if the furniture is older chip board/veneered, sand very lightly and treat as if real wood. As Ray says, if it's more modern, or in a jayco caravan, forget it ;) . It's just a pretend paper veneer. Glad you are still trying different foods, it will happen one day xxxx

Today was a wait for a sales rep pita sort of day. Finally showed up as we were about to eat lunch. For a sliding screen door like a crim safe one, they wanted a grand. I was expecting that. The killer is, can't start to build it before January and will install in February. Our tenant is happy that we are getting this done, but gee, it would be good if she had the affect of it during summer, when we all like to sleep with the doors wide open.

Took a couple of flattened wine bottles out of the kiln and added yet another experimental thing....time will tell.

night all xxx

Hate MDF. swells with moisture. dusty to machine.

Some people spray it with two-pack.

Dot, hope the shed isn't going to become a permanent noise problem for you... how many tractors will he have in it or is it going to be a pot plant lab? xxxx

Quiet day here, but no real rain, so that was a plus. The kiln experiment is not quite where I want it to be yet. So I added some more fancy glass and returned it for another night of warming up. The glass will be totally molten, and this was never possible in my previous kiln. Experiments are due to happen.

goodnight one and all xxx

Doubt if the shed people are that way inclined but the other neighbour might not think so  as the new one is 6ft 7'' and is not easily shoved  As long as he keeps supplying the wine he'll be ok  The lady is quite nice as well and can talk easily to her, she is a nurse and speaks the same sailor lingo when needs to :D Watered the lawn tonight (used the tank water) have too much. News saying more Omicron positives in Sydney. X SA premier Jay Weatherill has tested Pos to covid and SA opp leader is getting tested now. . An anti vaxer crashed her car into a pole near the WA premiers house because she "lost her job" and she was pisstoled . The world is totally stuffed. A friend of ours that works in the human cool room said that the visitors they have had non of them had any nasty bugs/ virus's. Off for the 6 weekly dyke cuts in the morn and the chiro in the arvo. Well I nearly ended up in the cool room tonight, Had a bit of meat pie and mashed spud, yep it got stuck in the throat and would not go past the green light, ended up waving at Gman to get liquid and that failed so bend over and do the old man hoike ? after a few attempts out it flew, scary shite that was. Bed time so Goodnight everyone x :D Goodnight Pet-els x :D

Maybe a glass of water on the table with all meals Dot? Glad you survived the scary episode. xxxx

Robert, hope all is well. xxx

The experimental piece is looking great, but it needs a lot of cold working now. That's sort of a nice way of saying scrubbing and sanding little bits of crap off the piece. Of course on one edge, the glass slid right over and underneath the shelf. That's more cold working with the dremel, in a couple of weeks time maybe.

The rest of the day was spent loading up the van and we will be off in the morning. We are heading up the highway for about and hour and a half to Karuah, for a catchup weekend with our jayco mob. We're trying to make up for all the time we missed with covid lock ins.

nighty night xxx
